Though the decor is slightly run down I still mange to find several new beers Iíve not tried before every time I visit. Food pretty poor but inexpensive.

Fantastic pub. good cask and Bottle selection on my last visit. Situated in the íReal Aleí mecca of Kelham Island. Only spoiled by the joyless and self-righteous Landlord and lady.

Located just a couple of minutes away from the Fat Cat and all the rest of the Kelham Island pubs. Large single room pub with a fairly unremarkable interior. Thereís 8 beers available on cask, plus a few crafty options on keg and in bottles. On my visit there were quite a few Brew Co beers available plus some stuff from microbreweries I had never heard of. The food was generous in size, if a bit expensive. The roast was of good quality, but quite salty. The service was very helpful, patient. Note that this place is cash only. I was unaware of this, and the bar staff were only too happy to let me leave the pub to find a cash machine after I had already had a few beers. No place in London would ever be so trusting! Overall, this is definitely a worthy stop on a Sheffield crawl.

Lovely, large, wooden furnitured boozer, with good foreign keg and Brew Co beers on handpull. Lovely feel to this place, and yet again (for Sheffield) a great pub, which is both traditional and forward looking.

Whenever we are in Sheffield, we get around this pub. They have 8 taps, often with beers from the micros in the area. A few time during the year they have their own little festival going on. They do traditionel pub foods. Very nice and cosy place.

Traditional in appearance, bordering on dated but the ale selection is good and the staff are friendly. Foodís not too shabby either!

A classic mixture of traditional pub furnishings with a modern and eclectic selection of both beers and ciders, both on tap and in bottle. An impressive and seductive collection; I can see myself coming back here often.

Good pub, popular with local office workers. A very good range of cask ales with good variety from pale to dark. \they have a small but tasty range of bottled continental beers. If proper cider or perry is your thing there is always a good range although this is not very prominentand you need to find the board stashed at the far end of the bar. Always a good place to go although the service can be slow when the place is packed.

On the 1st of October we had decided to do one of the most famous crawls in the UK called the Sheffield - Valley of Beer or the Don River Pub crawl. Following the recommendation at Scoopergen we started with a large traditional English breakfast at Wetherspoons Bankerís Draft in the city centre. Then we headed off, across the river, and entered Harlequin precisely at noon. The first thing you notice is, in fact, the real ale menu which is displayed on a board opposite the entrance door. There were 11 operating hand pumps in addition to bottles and taps. Many different and interesting ales to choose from. Friendly service, The Who on the jukebox, and a four edged room that promoted a cosy feeling. Seems to be quite popular among locals at lunch break. We enjoyed our stay for quite a while and really didnít want to leave, but we had to get on with our trail (visited, 01.10.2010).

Good old fashioned boozer that has been updated a little. Light inside and spacious. Barman looked like a hard nut but was extremely friendly. Local beers and Harlequin beers available at the location. Great find over the river.
