Place with two floors. I sat at the bar and had very fast service. I had a connecting train, so I was glad to have an efficient bartender. No real selection, but the Inselhopf is a very good pilsner. Nice place to visit if you are in Freiburg.

Two-storey brewpub located in the old city, absolutely packed on a rainy Sunday night with lots of North American tourists, which the staff seemed to be more interested in serving than the German patrons. Had a Schäuferle (which is basically Kassler in this part of the country, not to be confused with the Franconian variety) and the house beer, which is ok. Best prices in the ridiculously expensive Freiburg though.

Classical German beergarden. Rather dull place. The service was quick but showed no interest in the clients, they radiated boredom....

Busy up and downstairs, good food, beer and service. Only one of their own beers on, Inselhopf, unfiltered helles. The hefeweizen comes in bottle from Rogg brewery, quite good too.

A shadowy summer blessing in the otherwise hot and cramped centre of Freiburg. Lots of friendly service personnel provide a quick supply of light meals and refreshing drinks – but while there are around 12 different sorts of wine to choose from, the beer choice is limited to either "0.3 l" or "0.5 l". Too bad.

Worth a visit if you’re in Freiburg. Nice brewpub, the Inselhopf is excellent and you can take home a growler if you want. I’ve only had snacks there, once cheese once Schmalzbrot and they were both very good. Our waitress was very friendly and did her best to help my friends with food allergies.

Nice brewpub with a nice garden. Unfortunately only one (sometimes two) self-brewed beers available but they taste very good.

Their biergarten makes you feel like you are in the countryside, which is very nice. The building where the brewery and restaurant are is rather drab and modern however. The one house beer that was available that day was a beautiful unfiltered lager the likes of which I wouldn’t mind drinking for an entire evening. Service was efficient at the biergarten (lots of cute university gals too...) and the prices reasonable. Great place to have a brew and chat with friends in the shade of chestnut trees.

Large place in the city centre. Very smelly of meat that has been on the stove for hours and hours (= not good). Downstairs were some places left to sit at a small bar. Whining children around. Only 1 brew available. That’s what I call sucky for a brewpub.
