This place has been there forever, right next to Schaller and Weber in old Germantown on the UES. I have to say the selection of German beers is decent enough but the service was incredibly rude twice to me, correcting my German pronunciation of Weihenstephaner. Considering my father is German and I took 7 years of German in school, I know I know how to pronounce it... Anyway, the bar is small and and a bit cramped. Never had the food but have heard through the grapevine it has gone downhill....Eh, there are better German places in the city.

Well it was nice to have some German beers. The place is nice and the service good. I would say avoid the food however. It was one of the worst German? meals I ever had. But for a beer or two nice place.

Great local German restaurant/bar with imported German beers on tap and good German food. The waitresses are great, and the overall feeling is pretty similar to being in a local pub in Germany. Does not serve other types of beer, but highly recommended for great German beer and good bratwurst.
