Others have already commented on the ease (or otherwise) of finding the place. The tips on here are good, I will only add that you are in the right place if the cars in the street are Dutch or German-registered! On my visit at about 4pm the place was quite full, but the guys working the bar could not have been more helpful, taking the time to explain the beers and the collaborations behind some of them. I sampled a few 15 cl glasses at 2 Euros each, which I think is very good value indeed. The range was great, from oak-aged double IPA to brown sour and everything in between. My particular favourites were a low strength hoppy beer and the riporter. They only do beers, though, so if you have a driver like me, the only non-alcohol option is a glass of water! The shop is a couple of beers on a shelf. The tasting room is interesting, but the entrance area was a bit of a building site when we were there. I suspect the place will grow and develop over time. I would definitely go back - I loved it.

Very difficult to find as other have commented. What I will add is that the pin point on the ratebeer map is in the perfect place. Kasteelstraat is not a long street so remember it’s number 50 and you’ll have no problem.
Very interesting place hidden away in Oostvleteren. As soon as you step through the door, you know you’re in a place for beer geeks. Vast selection of struise beers on tap. I tried Black Albert but would like to go back when not driving as there were plenty that i’ve never seen bottled. The chap serving me was helpful. Well worth the visit if you happen to be in the area. Just a shame the opening hours are so small.

Excellente adresse.

Very difficult to find unless you visit here with a Belgian friend. No sign on the front door to a courtyard. You can see fermentation of STruise beers happening in the courtyard outside..inside, 30 draft lines with 25+ being STruise beers and others being guest taps. Small and large samples available and a small bottle shop. The staff was friendly, it was a nice place.

Located in Oostvleteren, in an old school. Actually very hard to find, because of the lack of any signs. You actually enter a regular door, which leads to courtyard, from which you finally enter the school/brewery.
The taproom is located in a classroom with an authentic panel painting, showing the brew process. The atmosphere is very cosy, abandoned old school benches and tables are still standing there, where you are now able to enjoy your beer. You can also sit in their courtyard when the wheather is sunny, go to the next butcher and join a barbecue. They promise to have about 30 beers on tap, which contains a good range of their beer, you can decide between three different glass sizes, 8ml, 15ml and 33ml, which is very comprehensible, taking into account that they serve beer with an abv between 3.5 - 26. They also got some bottles and glasses for takeaway, but don’t rely on their internet site, as they don’t seem to care to hold it up-to-date.

Cool place in an old school, the bar was inside an old classroom, seating in the classroom as well as outside. Selection is good, tried Double Black 2012 and 2014 side by side however the website wasn’t updated with available beers as I was hoping for a couple more Black Damnation variants. Prices are vary good. A couple of beers available for take away.

Abit hard to find, no signs or anything to let you know there is a brewery here. But as we strumbled over Urbain early saturday it wasnt to hard. Upon entering the door there is a backyard with fermentions tanks, barrels, the Struise festival tap trailer, etc. 2 lines of tables where you can enjoy the beers. The tap room is in a old classroom with a blackboard explaining the brewing proces. About 20 taps, with a good mix of styles, old favorites, 3-4 different Pannepot, Elliot brew, some experimental bends, a few new beers, sours, session IPAs, and 2 vintages of Black Damnation - Double Black. Draft pours avaible in 2 sizes at very good value. Some bottles to take away aswell. Service was good, funny to be around, nice and informative about the beers. Didnt eat, but was told that there was barbecue earlier on, but it was finished when we came. Quite a big crowd, tourist and locals, that thinned out somehow later on, proberly becourse we stayed a hour or more after closing time. Was a very good visit and ill like to go back some time.

Nice people, nice place, the best beer all over the world...I used to visit the old school every year and I can say that I love Struise. I’m very happy because we have some Struise’s beers in Spain. A little piece of my heart is in Oosvleteren. Thank you so much.

If I hadn’t to drive 300km back home I probably had tasted all the beers on tap. But since I couldn’t I only tasted two or three in small portions. Nice and friendly environment and a place to return. The only drawback is the prices of their bottled beer...

They only problem with this bar is that it only sells Struise beer. But when you think about it that isn’t that big of a problem since they make fucking fenomenal beer. A nice visit and one of the best times I have ever had at a bar!
