A shame that this place just closed, because the brewer was making some solid beer there. Got to try most of them one night, a few weeks before they shut. The Copperhead IPA was the highlight for me. Heard enough reports that the food was terrible so we didnít try it. Cool atmosphere though, and the Hickock mural was wild. Maybe a new brewpub will move in here and take over the kit.

Comfortable, friendly place with an historical note about Wild Bill Hickok on the menu that is fun to read, though it has little to do with the establishment other than its location.
Definitely the best beer in Springfield - sorry I wasted a couple of nights at Springfield Brewing Co before I found Hickokís.
Plenty of taps with a nice variety of beer styles available. Bartender (Sara J according to credit card receipt) was friendly and knowledgeable with beer selection.
Food was good - beer was better.
Donít leave without trying the Doc Holliday Ale!

Itís a cool looking entrance below ground level but the brewing equipment is at the street level. The establishment has two levels, with a larger bar on the basement level and a small bar on the second level. Restrooms are upstairs in the back-an inconvenience if youíre on the bottom level.
A nice selection of about 8 beers, ranging from a Belgium blond (not on tap) to an IPA, stout, and others. I had the IPA, rather light but bitter and somewhat spicy. An unusual beer but good. My second beer was a Belgium Red but not in the Rodenbach vane. Rather sweet and very spicy with a nice malt background. This place holds promise. I did not eat so cannot review the food. Rather different and unique. I will visit again next time Iím in Springfield.

Great service in a nicely renovated building. Non-smoking so you can taste their well made beers. Food was OK, not great.

Pretty cool place. The downstairs bar, where you enter, has stone walls, the ceiling is bare floor joists, a long bar, and a few tables. The upstairs dining area has a lot of wood and a wild west feel. The place was totally dead, which was fine by me. The beer is pretty average, but worth the time. Iíd like to go back some time when there is a nice crowd.

Surprisingly fun evening spent at this place. Rumor is that the brewer from the long-gone Ebbetts Field Brewing Co is the brewer here. Great selection of beers, knowledgable bartender, outstandingly friendly and beer loving patrons. Definitely a Gen X crowd. Smoke-Free is the best thing.

A great smoke-free bar, with $2.50 pints on Wednesdays, which apparently is also "Lost" night for the regulars, who cheer together for the characters on the tv show. A good amount of scotch, whiskey, and bourbon are available in addition to the terrific selection of terrific beers.
We did not visit the upstairs restaurant.
