Truly hidden away in an alley! Its location adds to its character...I saw a band perform here not too long ago and the dim lighting, smoke (machine?) and music made it incredibly like a scene from a movie, I enjoyed myself. Also spotted a few beers on tap that I didnít expect to be...

I really only have a few things to say about this place so weíll keep it short... Beer selection is really good, whoever does their beer ordering should be given a high five. Ambiance is okay, service is good, prices are good... but, my only complaint is the music. Every time Iíve come in thereís been a cover to listen to jam band junk that drives me up a wall. But, I suffer through it for the beer.

Pretty cool place, very chill and lax, and pretty decent beer selection .. I love the random bands that filter through. Definitely a place to check out!

I visit this palce regularly. Prices are generally good, beer selectio is solid, but nothing truely spectacular as far as I have seen. Pool tables and lost of live music that is usually pretty good. Kind of a dive bar that is a favorite for both hipsters and B-Town Rd. druggies. No one who works there really know anything about beer as far as I have experienced. P.S. Compass40204, Iím pretty sure its against the rules to rate a place you are employed at. Also, is Hideaway doesnít brew beer, how will you be serving your own beer on tap?

Ambiance is low key and mellow, some Dead playing downstairs, Mayfield upstairs. Kinda shady though. Could use some "sprucing up." Service was fine, the bartender there recommended beers I had already drank, but liked. Selection was among the best in Louisville (only Sergioís and Rich Oís trumps it) with Kasteel, Chimay, Unibroue, Stone, Dogfish Head, Samiclaus, Loose Cannon, Avery, St. Peter and Samuel Smith. Didnít eat, but got a good beer for a good price. Unfortunately, there was smoking upstairs, which is illegal in our city. If this place could not be so shady, it could draw some positive attention as a serious beer bar.

Iíve been going to the Hideaway for over 5 years. It became my favorite bar rather easily and I became friends with the owner. For the past 3 years Iíve actually worked there, so Iím obviously biased. That said, our beer selection has gone from a couple dozen to over 150. Yes, thatís been partly my doing. Please stop in and check us out; youíll be glad you did. And feel free to suggest new beers. This year weíll also have our own brews on draft. Thatís my job, too. I look forward to hearing your feedback.
