Further up the same Huddersfield Road which is sister pub with the same name is on, this Sam Smith’s pub is a three roomed affair with the main one as you walk in also including the bar. This is the cosiest of all with good soft furnishings and an open fire and a small bar which packs in a fair selection of the brewers ales. There’s also a couple of the handcrafted bottle collection here. The range does not really differ than much to the other Bird in the Hand down the road but it’s got a slightly better atmosphere about it. The other ’bar’ room is square with small tables around its perimeter broken only by another open fireplace that also has darts board above it. There’s more than enough space for the oche as there’s nothing in the centre of the room.
