Brauhaus tradizionale tedesca, una tappa fondamentale per i visitatori di Monaco. Cibo non troppo ricercato ma buona birra helles alla spina.

A bit of a shock entering this place late on a Saturday night after having had a nice dinner at quiet Ayingers across the street. An enormous beer hall with a very, very loud and excited crowd, Hard to hear the oompah band, but they tried their best. An experience and how I imagine Octoberfest would be like.

Huge beer hall, went there saturday april 6th around 23 and it was packed and very loud. Did not even hear the ompa ompa band playing. Not my place to stay for several hours(prefer Ayinger right across the street), but a nice experience, and probably the closest you get octoberfest feeling.

Large place, super crowded, very noisy. But the food is good, and the beer is good. Traditional German beerhall.

What to say that hasn’t been already ... Hitlers favourite haunt and this seems to attract the tourists here more than any other beer hall. We sat inside and eat here surrounded by Japanese tourists pointing cameras at anything that moved!
Beer is OK - nowt special ditto the food - adequate.
Outside was a huge beer garden with umpa style music wafting across it.
Service held up well bearing in mind how busy it was.
I wouldn’t say don’t go here but if you only have a limited time in Munchen hit on other venues first.
You can get their beers at Munchen Flughafen at the small bar right by the departure gates (BA anyhow).

Though I havent visited in a number of years, I enjoyed it 3 times in the past. The food is pretty darn good, and the atmosphere is fun but there is just a hint of a touristy quality and pricing to the whole place. I preferred the Augustinerbau Haus.

I visited it twice in 2000. The oldest brewpub in Munich, I think. Very good ambience, live music, good and friendly service. They served only two beers on tap, when I was there and you can only get it in 1 liter dimpled mugg at the groun floor. You can get smaller upstairs in the restaurant. They also sale souvenirswith their logo. This place is a must, when you’re in Munchen.

An absolute must in Munich. Last time I was there was 2002 and it was a great expereince. Not the best beer selection but wonderful ambiance, music and people. Some of my best memories of that Germany trip were at the Hofbrau Haus.

I’ve visited twice, once in 2008 and again in 2011, and it’s certainly a worthwhile experience. The ambiance is wonderful with live German music and long, shared tables within a festive atmosphere. Service is good and friendly, but the selection is quite limited, which is how the restaurant/brewery is by design. The food and the beer are both very delicious and fresh, but it is not an inexpensive meal. Overall it is a good (and perhaps necessary) experience, but less-touristed, authentic beer halls are ultimately superior.
