independent grocer with awesome beer selection. many items available as singles -- wish everything was, but that is a small gripe. great place.

This is an upscale grocery that is worth the trip for the cheese alone. Lots of wine, liquor and beer. A great selection of Michigan singles as well as other craft and imports. They do get some limited releases but you have to pay attention to get them. This would be my grocery store if I were anywhere close.

I love this place. They have a great selection and constantly roll their product. Staff members are knowledgeable and friendly. The only complaint I have is there is no really consistency on rare beer releases from what I’ve seen. Some are first come first serve, others like the one happening now, are a lotto system. This wouldn’t be bad, except they started accepting lotto entries via facebook, which I think is extremely unfair. Overall, this is a great store with very knowledgeable staff and friendly service. Oh ya, and great beer!

Liquor store in the grocery store. Decent selection of singles and the prices seemed reasonable. I didn’t pick up a few beers here I should have as I didn’t see them as singles elsewhere.

Really great selection. The beer section is clean, organized, and welcoming. They are priced very well, and I had lots of staff offering to help me. Singles, 6/4 packs and bombers/750s were all easy access and visible. This store officially made its way into my regular bottle shop routine.

After getting this as a suggestion from some Michigan BA’s, I stopped in while I was in town last week. It turned out to be an incredible recommendation.
This is set up as a specialty grocery store, with a vast selection of wine and beer as well. Coming from Chicago, I was looking to try out the selections from Short’s and other locals, but their overall selection is just incredible. They have a good selection of nationally distributed craft beers, but I was most impressed by the selection of singles. There not many places that really break up six packs into singles around where I live, so I was able to grab a huge selection of beer without committing to a whole pack.
Having a singles selection like this absolutely made the trip worth it for me, but the positives don’t stop there. I noticed the prices on some bombers and six packs were cheaper than they would cost at home. The beer is stored far away from light, so I never have to worry about it being lightstruck. Also, they get enough traffic and do enough volume that everything they have in stock seems fresh.
Ashley, their resident beer expert, is just a great guy. He had responded to my thread about places to go with very detailed information, and it was a pleasure to talk beer with him in person at the store. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and has great recommendations.
Holiday just became my regular bottle shop whenever I am in town seeing my cousin, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Overall, just a great experience. Good prices, great beer, great service. I guess you could call me a fan.

A great selection with fair prices. Another store that sells the quantity to demand the hard to find, limited release, items. Service is very competent, if a little stuffy.

Holiday Market is located on the south end of Royal Oak on South Main. There is a large parking lot for customers.
The beer section is located in the rear of the store and is cleanly displayed in a couple aisles. The beer is segmented geographically, including by "East Coast", "West Coast" and imports.
As for the beer selection, it numbers in the hundreds with lots of domestic craft breweries like Great Lakes, Keweenaw, Shorts, Dark Horse, New Holland and Saugatuck. Many bombers too from Avery, Goose Island, and Bear Republic too. Many imports to choose from Belgium, the UK, Germany and Canada too. Mixed singles are available as well.
Service is above what you expect from a grocery store. The people working in the beer area were very friendly and courteous and clearly take pride in the display and care of the stock.
Overall this place is my kind of store, reminiscent of favorites like West Point Market in Akron or Hills Market in Columbus. Definitely worth a stop for any beer fan or someone who likes a quality grocer.

Loads of fresh fruit and veggies as you walk in. Store is quite big. Seems to be the hip place to shop in Royal Oak. Macros in the cooler, but a good selection of MI craft beer and representatives from both coasts. Fair number of bombers, a lot of 6 packs. Bells, Founders, Shorts, Dark Horse, New Holland, Dragonmead, Arcadia, North Peak, etc. Sam Adams Barrel series was there, Ditto Stone Vertical Epic, Rogue, Bear Rep. etc.Great prices on the Jolly Pumpkin bombers. Fairly good selection of imports - JW Lees, Tremens, Sam Smith, Rochefort, etc. Cheap glasses. The better store is up the street but if you get to town Sunday after 5 Holiday is the way to go.
