Being a homebrewer myself, I stopped into this store while in Hood River just to check it out. The front door was locked with a sign that indicated that you need to go the other door around back... no sign out back indicating which door it was. After asking several folks about the entry, I was directed to someone that would let me in to have a look around. I got the distinct impression from him that he was busy and had other things to do, offered very little input to my questions and seemed irritated when it became apparent to him that I was not there to buy something. Hopefully the local home brewers have a better experience or have an alternative for getting their supplies... I was not, at all, impressed.

Owner runs another business around the corner and downstairs so figure to ring the bell or call his phone and he’ll come right around. It’s a dinky, crowded shop with no "ambience" but he’s got a surprising variety of supplies and is great with knowledgable advice for new brewers (like me). It’s great having a local supplier so we don’t have to make the trip to Portland every time we want to brew. Maybe I’ve lived long enough in a small town to appreciate minimalism, but I’m glad we have him here.
