Easy to get there from downtown. Epic Belgian and local selection, also featuring and off-menu menu. Nice food and ambiance make it a must stop in Chicago!

Really awesome beer bar with a focus on Belgians. They also had fresh zombie dust on tap when I was there. Tonnes of taps, great service and really good food. This is a good one.

This place is sick. Crazy amount of beer available, including plenty of really hard to find beers. Generous with tap tastings. Awesome beer drinking atmosphere. Just go here.

Small bar with great city feel. Servers were a little cold, but thatís the big city. Food looked really good and people raved about it. Most importantly they had great beers on tap that bridge the gap between Ohio & NE and west of Chicago. Of course they also had the great Chicago brews and great Belgiums.

Really love the Hopleaf. Easily accessible, and the larger space is certainly more accommodating (even if here a spot at the bar is a tough get). Over the course of many hours with a powerful co-conspirator, I was continually agog at the beer options. Crazy good locals, rare Belgians, national craft delights, the full gamut of styles too. Terrific service even when hellaciously crowded. What really puts this place in the front rank is the amazing food. Absolutely superb, best place in Chicago as far as Iím concerned.

Hopleaf, the name speaks for itself around Andersonville. There are several great beer bars on Clark street such as Jerryís and Acre to name a couple but no one can hold a torch to Hopleaf.
Back in 2011 my then fiancť and I were thinking of moving to Andersonville from the south side to be closer to her work and the very first place we tried was Hopleaf as I had read several reviews raving about it. I was sold immediately with the extensive selection on draft, the friendly bartenders, the classy old school feel of the atmosphere, and the delicious food. I canít believe it took me so long to write a review but to sum it all up, if you like craft beer and live in Chicago and havenít been to Hopleaf, you need to make a trip NOW!

On my recent visit to Chicago I visited 8 craft beer places over 5 days. Hopleaf was far and away my favorite (not counting Three Floyds which itís probably not a fair comparison). In fact I went out of my way to visit twice on my short trip! The people are great here...staff and patrons both during my 2 visits. The vibe here was great...and crowded both times...but each time I got a solo seat at the bar fairly quickly. I thought the beer selection here was phenominal...a "really" nice sampling of local Chicago craft beers and beyond. Top that off with some really fantastic food (the grilled cashew butter & fig sandwich is to die for!) and you definitely have a winning combination. With a few extra Dreadnaughts in my car the night before flying back to NJ...it was easy to find a couple of worthy souls to gift them to. This is a must visit for the craftbeer fan while in Chicago...you will have great beer and food...and likely stirke up some really good conversations.
