Great place. Jammed on a Friday night, and not surprisingly. Four house beers (three regular, one seasonal), which were all excellent. Friendly bartender. Good prices. Great looking place; the draft system, in particular, is quite attractive. I could picture this place fitting quite well in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) or something; it’s got that kind of feel to it. A must visit when in Berlin.
Visited December 2015. It was crowded but we found a seat. Was too busy chatting, so I’m not even sure how we got the beer - whether there was service or we ordered at the bar. Anyway - it’s a brewpub, and the beer’s good, and the tiles that cover the walls are interesting. Well worth a visit.
Nice place. Four beers (three regulars and a special) and a cider on tap. Prices are fair enough for being one of the best brewpubs in Berlin, and for being located in hipster/touristy/I-got-the-money F’hain. Service always atentive and kind. Beers in good conditions, fresh and tasty.
This has grown to be my favorite brewery in Berlin. In a trendy neighborhood with a younger, hipster clientele mixed in with an older crowd and a fair amount of auslanders. Every beer I have had has been well crafted and I have really enjoyed their seasonals. I really like their mix of traditional German brewpub with slightly newer, American-influenced styles: this is found in their making of fairly traditional German styles infused with American hops. Service has always been great and friendly. Definitely worth a stop in Berlin and, again, the best blending of newer styles of beer ingredients and traditional German beers in the city.
This Brewpub is the home of the Fanclub "Berliner Fohlen" from the team of Borussia Mönchengladbach. They have good beers and most time one interesting saisonal beer on Tap, also they have a nice Cider on Tap. I met cool people in this Pub and the Stuff was also very friendly. If I came back to berlin I will be at Hops & Barley again for sure!
Cosy, a little "rough", smoky, but most of all friendly atomsphere. The beers are of german styles with a twist (post-modern german beers...). Beer glasses are available for 2euros.

Friendly staff, good vibes, reasonable fresh beer for reasonable prices. What else you want from an all-day-beer-pub ? O.K. - this is NOT the beer-geek´s paradise. Who cares ? This is probably one of the most interesting beer-places in Berlin to meet people, to drink (a lot) and to have fun... Revisited: They had an interesting Cascade Amber Ale on tap I liked...
Very nice atmosphere, plenty of guests and some seats outside. 4 taps, pils, dunkel , hefe and a one varying a very good hoppy Cascade amber ale on my visit.
They will sell it on bottle for you, if you like.
Will definetly go back the next time Im in Berlin
Visited in March 2009. Lovely tiles in the front room, attentive service and excellent beers - not to mention the cider... The Helles is one of my favourite beers so far on this Berlin trip.
Music leaned heavily towards punk, which suited me just fine, though that might not appeal to everyone.
When we finally paid up and went to leave at about 01:50, they brought us shot glasses of something purple and a free beer! Those of our number who were there before me also managed to get a brewery tour.
Definitely worth a visit (even ignoring the freebies...)
