72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 15/20 Theydon_Bois (372) The ’Sham, England | November 19, 2012| Updated November 20, 2012 Visited on the afternoon of Weds 07/11/12.
Place had a few folks drinking but was post lunch so a little quiet.
Modern looking spacious bar with bike frames (2 dozen or so) running above the bar.
10 taps and 1 cask line.
Went for the sample tray which was $10 (from memory - certainly no more perhaps $8) and contained all 10 beers available (the cask line was a duplicate of one of the tap offerings). This was one of the coolest I’ve seen and came in a circular format set out like bicycle spokes with the respective beers lined up in their named hub - all printed and incroporated not hand written like most.
Service was friendly and attentive and the server also gave me a sample of the cask beer .
I’d reccomend a visit here and it fits in well with a trip to NOL 5th Quad. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 mcberko (134) Vancouver, British Columbia | November 14, 2012| Updated November 20, 2012 Came here for some lunch on a lazy, rainy Sunday afternoon. Sampled a bunch of beers and had a delicious burger. Prices were very reasonable and service was quite good. I think this brewery’s beers are overrated, but the experience was enjoyable. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 phaleslu (314) Cincinnati, Ohio | November 6, 2012| Updated November 20, 2012 We had dinner and beers here our first night in Portland. Cool bike-themed place in the ’fifth’ quadrant along what is becoming Portland’s Bike Highway. Colorful interior, with bike stuff all over, and beer bottles and cans as the rest of the decor. Even two bikes out front that help power the building. The service was solid and friendly. Food was good, with a good range of options. There were 10 taps, all HUB. Been very pleased with everything I’ve had from them so far. Overall, very good brewpub that does exactly what it wants to achieve. Worth a visit for sure. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | June 22, 2011| Updated November 20, 2012 10 taps plus one cask in a nice urban setting close to bike trails. All beers were pretty decent, and a couple were really good. Big patio. Great service. Worth a stop. |
