Awesome little place, totally unassuming. The range of draft beers was pretty impressive. They had about 4-5 house beers, plus another 8 or so guests. All the beers were of excellent quality. The servers were attentive and polite. Prices, for a Westerner, are awesome. The vibe is hard to describe but I think any dude who just goes there for the [great] beer will be completely happy. Kind of like a well-lit basement with some scattered beer ephemera, tables and chairs, a wall with shelves holding glasses and a row of taps. I wish I could have stayed here much, much longer than I did (appx. one hour). Am looking forward to going back to Bratislava mostly so I can come here again.

RBESG 2012. Really a neat little keller/bar with a fun atmosphere and a great selection. At least one beer I had here was dirty, so I’m not sure if it was their line or not. Would visit again.

Easily the best beer venue in Bratislava. Richtar Jakub is a fairly basic looking cellar bar that could easily be missed at street level. Inside is fairly dark and dingy, but then again it’s all about the beer. They had plenty of Slovak and Czech beer I have never heard of/could pronounce on tap. Beer selection is displayed on a blackboard on the wall. The house beers are particularly good. They also had some international stuff such BrewDog in bottles. There isn’t even an actual bar here just taps on the wall! Server was friendly and attentive (even though we didn’t speak the same language). Kind of reminds me of the excellent Zly Časy in Prague. They also do snacks and basic food. An interesting venue for sure and an essential visit in Bratislava.

Not overly impressed with this one. The beers were in terrible condition. Had 6,7 the first visit which were all completely off meaning infected/unclean probably beacuse of the taps. Their 2 own house beers were "the cleanest" and decent. They had Brewdog Hardcore IPA as a special which for Slovakia could be a scoop. I managed to get a Kout 10’ which was served from a rotten/unclean tap. Horrible experience. Not much English are being spoken. You get the ticks but the beers are in really bad shape.

The Gem of Bratislava!
Just outside main city centre and located in a living area.
Great selection. Both their own and other beers.
Lovely outside patio and nice slovak food!

Small patio behind, two or three rooms inside were reserved or packed. Lots of beer bottles all over the walls, very good selection of about 12 taps (few house beers and some guest beers weekly rotating) plus some bottles. Basic and tasty pub food, service bit slow but never mind. Reminds me on Zly Časy. Must visit place in Bratislava.

Small brewpub situated in a basement near universty facs. There were only 2 home beers when I visited, both excellent unfiltered lagers, but they sometimes serve 3 or 4. The rest of the blackboard was filled with a solid selection of small to medium sized slovak and czech breweries. No generic euro-lagers here. Staff know their stuff, are smiling. Place is packed with locals during evening, so reservation or early visit is recommended. Definitely the best option for a beer-tourist in Bratislava.

RBESG 2012 - day 2 and 3. Lovely little cellar bar that looks like a place you’d want to hang out if you lived here. A quite wide range of beers, and with some rotation too, but unfortunately in pretty bad shape. The beer may have been mediocre to begin with, but more than one also came out of a dirty tap. They have some pretty nice mead though!

A must-stop if ever you’re in Bratislava -- it has the best set of taps around. It’s a great place to while an evening away.

THE place to go to for beer in Bratislava. A microbrewery, that does above-average stuff, not the best in Bratislava, but still quite nice, and carries some 8 more taps with rare Czech or Slovak stuff (or Hardcore IPA). The Valášek beers stole the show when we visited, and they had Kout 12 (filtered) too. It’s a cider place too, with at least one Czech variety available when we were there, and two really good Slovak meads too. The staff was very good and attentive, props to them for bearing with us. The food is apparently more or less simple pub fare, but what we’ve had was good. It’s a cellar pub, and they really try with paraphernalia, bottles and everything and sometimes it works, sometimes... not, but it’ll get a 5 from me. All in all, just visit it!
