I cant go into this place and leave empty handed. The selection is top notch and you can usually count on them to get the rare stuff in. I make it a habit of stopping by once a week after work.

Ok, when I originally rated this place. I meant everything I said about it. It is a low key, blue collar, and mostly unassuming looking place in the middle of New Ken. However, in recent months, they have completely upped the ante. They now have 24 taps, half of which are Belgian. The selection is not unmatched, but the prices are. There were two single bottles that were priced 15 dollars less each than they were at Sharp Edge. The owner is always putting out little cheese and meat plates for patrons, and last time I was there, he just ordered a bunch of pizzas for everyone. This place has tons of quality beer, great home town atmosphere, and the best value Iíve found pretty much anywhere in PA. They still have a 10 dollar mix and match for most of their beers.

Tucked away in New Ken, this is the closest place to home with a solid selection for the Pittsburgh Market, including some rarities like HotD, 3Fonteinen, Cantillon and Ottoís. Fantastic service, Dave (Owner), Scott (Bar Manager) both know their beer and it shows. Enjoyed geeking out. Prices are great, plus, as stated, no Onorato tax. Will definitely make this a regular stop.

Been buying from them for about a year or so, things just keep getting better, continual improvements to their great selection, both bottles and tap, great prices, a good find so close to home, worth the trip.

A big thanks to Naka for letting me know about this place. Finally got to it in early summer on a Saturday. I had ambitions of stopping here and then heading further in to Pittsburgh, but once I got here and spent a good 45 minutes pouring over the selections, followed by a few pints of excellent draught IPAs ... well, it was time to head home again.
Great staff! Friendly, helpful, and know their beer. The guy running it that day opened up a bottle of Karmeliet Tripel for everyone to sample for free at the bar, because they were getting a sixtel of it the next week. Just a great place to stop and stock up. Nice Belgian selection and tons of micros and imports. Wonderful draught selection, too.

Perhaps the best kept secret beer bar in the Pittsburgh area. The place is pretty non-descript from the outside, and resides in a gritty former industrial neighborhood. Inside, it is sort of half warehouse, and have dive bar; the big difference being the ridiculous selection of beers. The classic move is to choose six beers from their sizable selection to create a $10 six-pack. More recently, they have vastly expanded their selection of harder-to-find Belgians, and more obscure craft beers, many of which I havenít seen anywhere in western PA but there. There is also a small and gritty bar on the other side of the building. The tap selection is usually nothing short of amazing. Iíve seen St. Bernardus 12 and Wild Devil on tap. The prices for the beers are also very very reasonable; again, some of the best in the Pittsburgh metro area. I would rate this ahead of 3 Sons, as the prices outweight the latterís small advantage in selection. Worth visiting, for sure. Upon a recent return visit, I noticed that the establishment had vastly expanded their selection, on top of what was already extremely impressive. Lost Abbey, Russian River, Hair of the Dog, New Glarus. Now easily the best bottle shop in western Pennsylvania.

Fantastic selection, Good prices, single bottles mix n match. Also has a nice selection of draft beers on tap. Good choice of Belgiums. Offers Growlers to go. Not much of an atmosphere. Update 2012: Still get to this place alot because you cant beat the selection. But bottles have gotten more expensive. Pricing could be better.

Canít believe there isnít more buzz around this one. Selection isnít quite as robust as 3 Sons or Dís in Swissvale, but probably right behind those two. Organization is great. Ambiance is hard to rate because this is set up more to be a takeout place, thereís not much in the way of it, but you canít fault the place. Prices are very very good, especially in this area. Overall yet another beer store I wish was a lot closer to my home. Maybe not worth the extra half hour from Swissvale, but certainly not worth passing up if you are going up the turnpike.
