Being a brew pub, you only get to taste the home made brews of course. An ok but a bit blunt blonde, an ok brown and a nice "Bangelijke", all served a bit too cold though, especially the Bangelijke with 9.5% ABV needs some warming up before releasing itís full aroma and flavours. The food is very tasty. Nothing fancy, but honest good (brew) pub food at reasonable prices. Nice to drop by in the afternoon and install yourself at one of the tables with your newspaper or paperback. Very friendly waiting staff!

I really enjoyed this pub which was a bit of a walk from the centre of town. The house beers are very nice and the building is superb with beautiful copper brewing equipment all around. The food was tasty and filling. All in all, well worth a visit.

Visited in October 2012.
This was in the middle of a long day of bar hopping around Antwerpen with tour guide Matt Rooney (who makes an excellent tour guide by the way). It was here that we ran into two people that we ended up hanging out with for the rest of the evening. One of those guys was this crazy German bastard named Uli who blends lambic and does a pretty good job of it. The other guy was an aussie living in Portland who spends most of this time on beeradvocate. The company was good. The service was passable, especially for Belgium. It was very hands off. We got our drinks at the bar and carried them to one of the tables. Luckily they do flights here. The beers are all pretty mediocre with the blonde being the best of the bunch (in my opinion, clearly not in the rest of Ratebeerís opinion as evidenced by the low score) and the worst being the Nen Bangelijke. Prices were high, naturally. Aside from the company I think the best part of the place is the layout of the building. Itís very open and has a nice bar in the back. There is a large staircase going down to the bathrooms. Over all itís a nice set up, they just need to make better beer. Canít comment on the food as we didnít eat anything.
Would I return here? Probably not if I was going out of my way for it but Antwerpen is a beautiful town and there are some good bars here as well as plenty of other sites to see. I suspect that Iíll at least be in the area again sometime and will probably stop in for some ticks.

Nice place with a really nice brewery-equipment, huge spaces for guests. Nice beers, the winterbeer was the best. Friendly stuff, fine food.

Well worth the effort of getting down too. We used the underground and bus system to get here, the tram to get back to the station area, to far to walk on a really crisp, windy, cold Sunday afternoon in March 2010.
Modern with that old feel you get when the designers leave the original walls up but change almost everything else. This old warehouse houses a modern brewery, kettles at the front, fermenting vessels to the rear, all clearly visible from where ever you sit. I thought the place was classy and my wife enjoyed it too. Upstairs wasnít open, but I popped up to see, looked just as impressive as ground level did.
We were the first customers and I had all four of their beers over the course of our stay, my wife two, each was served beautifully and promptly. The blonde was the pick of the bunch in my eyes, the winter brew coming second. They sold huge bottles to take out, they looked great, but were a bit expensive.
The place slowly began to fill with diners and we left to continue or tour of the city using the difficult to work out transport system.

The food here was great here and the beer was good. A cool brewpub that is right beside the muesum.

The place is more for the crowds, although there werenít one during our visit. Food cooked with beer was more interesting than the brews. Brewery is nicely visible, fun to follow the piping around the building. Did not like the smoke room, which is good to have it separate, but Iíd just do away with it completely.

Fairly large brewpub in the southern part of town. Wasnít crowded, just took a seat at one of the tables near the bar. Three house beers on tap at the time, none were very good, but I guess they were alright. Not someplace Iíd need to go back to.
