Credo uno dei pochi, se non l’unico, lambic pub al mondo. Ambiente piccolo ma carino e personale gentile e disponibile. Selezione importante e bottiglie vintage.

In de verzekering tegen de grote dorst, what can you say about this place? For me not so much as I rarely could remember the name - it’s quite a mouthful! I just usually referred to that famous Belgian lambic place only open on Sundays. A very cool local pub just by the church and the cemetary. Friendly service with great staff, great lambic selection as well as other interesting stuff. I loved the dried hops hanging from the rafters and this place is a once in a lifetime must visit locale. I’m thankful I got the chance to take part in an amazing tasting there.

Bit odd living 15min away and never went, but this was solved on the Aug 15th, 2015 thanks to Omgrich. A place with a soul and a true gem of honest business dedicated to geuze culture, little village in the middle of Pajjotenland. Local characters that are out of a FC DeKampioenen episode. Great selection of beers, plenty of WW1 memorabilia. The kind of stop you can dream of recreating outside Belgium - hint the US - but will fail trying to achieve it.

Finally made it to this reputed café with the weirdest opening hours. Rustic, very old fashioned environment both inside and outside, clearly an old ’volkscafé’ turned into a heaven for lambic hunters. Needless to say, it was extremely busy when we got there, and it took more than half an hour before we could even begin to make our order. I would therefore recommend to order everything you want to consume at once in order to avoid having to wait for another half hour - especially since the pub closes at 1:30 PM (though it was already 2:30 PM when we left the place as the last customers). Lambic selection is evidently great, with some rare vintages at, in all, quite reasonable prices. The two brothers who own it clearly know what they are doing and are open to a chat about lambic any time. Very pleasant, friendly atmosphere and a terrific experience for a lambic lover like myself, too bad it is near impossible to get there if you do not have a designated driver with car.

Visited the 2nd May 2015 during the Toer de Geuze - This place is just amazing. This small bar opens every Sunday is the heaven for Geuze lovers ! It’s a must to visit if you like all og them. The decoration is reall smart and very nice it looks like as a old pub. The counter is in marble and really nice. The service is smart and great. About the selection, just amazing and the prices are really smart ! Highly recommended ! It’s better to visit it on a sunny day to go outside and enjoy the place !

Very nice little café in pajottenland. Visited on tour the geuze and café wasnt overcrowded as expected. Service tends to be slow, but i feel that’s how it should be. Selection was excellent, prices very reasonable. Will definitely return soon.

Fantastic place, you want to imagine this being like an old days lambic café. Friendly service, but quite slow when the place is busy. QUirky opening hours, and a bit difficult to get there and back to Brussels.

Visited on numerous Sundays over the past couple years as well as after Toer de Geuze 2013. Some of my most memorable drinking experiences have been here, and no trip to Belgium is complete for me without a visit. The bar looks and feels exactly what I imagine an old school traditional lambic cafe to be. The selection of lambic is as good as it gets. Several casks of unblended lambic along with a huge bottle list containing numerous vintage bottles at prices that can’t be beat. Yves and Kurt are great hosts and love to chat about beer. Truly a must visit bar for any lambic lover.

have not set foot there for many years now -it being in my village of birth-, we spent many sunny sunday afternoons there, being young. Brings back memories, and it does confirm: it was always a top place to be.And the selection of beers remains what we had over the years.
