I liked the building, liked the vibe, like the food. There was a lot of space so it didn’t feel like people were on top of you. It had a lively and fun atmosphere on a Friday night, but I wasn’t really feeling there beer. In fact that’s the only thing that lowered there score. Otherwise it was great.

Pretty busy for just opening on Tuesday. Pretty chill vibe with viewing of the brewery and distillery. Had a full beer and a few tasters for $15. The food looked good too but I was not hungry yet. Def return.

Liquid Riot is centrally located on Commercial Street at the top of Union Wharf. It is actually quite a big place inside with a dining room and bar. You can see straight into the brewery as you head towards the bar. We sat at the bar with a rather nice view onto the harbour. They had 14 taps of their own beer on offer during our visit, which ain’t bad. We had a pretty big flight of beers between us (@ $2.50 per sample). Beers were all pretty interesting in style and quite enjoyable, although it can be a bit hit and miss. The server was very friendly and I liked the laid-back atmosphere. They also have a tiny bottle shop next door to get some beer to takeway including a few limited releases. A solid spot with a fun and interesting variety of beer on offer. Worth a visit.

A good brewpub in downtown Portland. I visited here on a weekday afternoon in July 2015. A nice cozy interior, small bar, and outdoor seating (with view of the harbor). A pretty large beer selection, with some unique offerings. I tried a vanilla wheat stout, kinderbock, foreign stout, and sour ale. Nothing crazy good, but all solid offerings. The food menu is somewhat limited and expensive. I had the lobster roll, which was delicious. Overall it is a decent stop - nice location (although parking can be a problem), beer is ok but plenty of styles to choose from, food is good but pricey.

This place has changed names and shrunk it’s dining room since my last visit. Still pretty much the same otherwise, although the quality of the beers has much improved. Re: the french fries...We ordered a cone to share as an appetizer and they were pretty good. However, I received a side order of fries with my burger (I had asked for a salad but it was our server’s first day) and they were mushy. Learn to fry consistently! Old Review: Stopped in twice on my last swing through Portland, great service both times. I’m still not sure where to park. Nice big modern brewpub ambiance. Tried most of the house beers which were uniformly watery and failed to live up to the descriptions on the menu. They’re still getting the distillery going it seems as there wasn’t much selection of house spirits. Cocktails with house spirits were good but nothing special for the high price point. I ordered french fries to share with friends and was frankly embarrassed when they brought out the plate of lukewarm, undercooked, grocery store freezer section potato turds. Pretzel and chocolate cake were great though.

Went in on a Friday night. No problems getting a spot. Decent draft list, with some solid variety. Nothing that really blew my mind, but definitely some solid offerings.

Has to be my favorite brewpub in Portland. Modern but wrenchy spot right on the harbor, outside deck looks over the water. They have about 12 beers on tap. My biggest complaint is about 5 of them play toward the non micro crowd, either directly or by being too approachable. The other beers are top notch. The Albino was a treat, both ipas were solid, and the Irish was very nice. Service was a bit spotty, not only taking a long time between interactions, but gave me the wrong change. Fun spot, with some of the better beer in town, but it is pricey. I’ll be back.

On the water with an outside deck. A lot of styles of house made beer and liquor available in samples and flights. We didn’t eat so I don’t know how the food is. Barrels and dark wood with dim lighting create a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth stopping in but, not a place that needs to be its own destination

Nice and spacious brewpub with clear view of the brewing kit behind the bar. Quite the range of beers and I ordered a flight of their hoppy offerings which were pretty decent. These guys do a number of collaboration beers of interest too,and can be found around town at the other bars. The bartender provided good service throughout. Food menu available. It’s a popular place and no doubt worth a visit when in Portland.

Visited on a Sunday evening. Close to Novare Res.

Ambiance: Enormous place and everything looked shiny and brand new. Some heavy dollars were spent here. Place was almost empty, which is’nt completely surprising considering it was sunday night, but such a large place (and the location near the waterfront) I hope it gets busier the rest of the week.

Service: Friendly. A bit slow considering we were almost the only clients there BUT we were also 5 peoples ordering 5 flights each so I can’t complain much here.

Selection: Good variery with 18 of their beers on tap as well as a few of their distillated products available. In terms of quality, it was mostly hit or miss like Julien said. Nothing was exceptionnal, but a few of their beers were more than decent.

Food: Didn’t tried it, but it looked good.

Value: Price for the flights ($2,50 each) were very good. Other prices weren’t bad either.

Overall: With a little improvment on their beers, this would be a really nice place to visit. I will probably come again next time I’m in Portland for a few ticks after Novare Res.
