A beer shop that also offers a drink in coffee and tea service plus a cask ale for drinking on the premises. A good selection of local micro’s many of which I had not come across before. Some Germans and Americans but mainly a stopping off place for local micro’s. Prices were good and the owner helpful and friendly. Only down side was that its on the main shopping road so parking is difficult. Park on the side street and pull in to the bus stop outside. The owner helped me to my car with my box. As I said-Friendly.

Picked this place out of the CAMRA Good Beer Guide during a trip to Southport, and was very impressed. Great selection of bottled ales, many from micro’s not seen before, also with many bigger brewers and foreign beers available. Bottles are to take away, quite keenly priced, or can be opened and drunk on the premises for an extra 50p. Small number of beers on tap and did notice some food available (snacks/pies) but not rated as was just there for the beer! Venue is quite small and I imagine it gets very busy at weekends in summer, but on a Tuesday night in the middle of winter we had no problem getting a table inside. Recommended.
