Ambiance: This is the 4th IH that I have visited and probably the largest one. They have a really good sized dining area and large bar area that can hold at least 20 patrons at the bar. Place was very clean.
Service: The service was about as good as you would get any chain, no personality, timely but nothing exceeding expectations. Our server wasnít knowledgeable about their beer when asked about the IBUs on their IPA.
Selection: Typical array of styles with 6-7 flagship beers on tap then another 4 different beers for their location, which included an IPA, Strawberry Witbier, Pumpkin Stout and Rauch. Beers were average, nothing bad but nothing to seek out
Food: Decent, wife got a salad, I got a burger, kid got pizza, nothing flashy but cooked well and served timely.
Value: A bit over priced for the quality of beer and food, especially for this area. Their price structure does not vary with the area, thus making this location over priced.
Overall, a good enough place to stop when in the area and you have a family. Bigger food selection than Spring House and better beer selection than Lancaster Brewing.
Stopped in on a road trip back to DC area, nice ambiance, helpful bartenders. Tasted several house beers on tap, all were good. Filled a growler and headed out. Unfortunately did not get a chance to sample the food.
Modern place in the corner of a huge long row of generic looking condo buildings. Big parking lot right behind it, so no problem there. All the usual suspects were on tap, plus half a dozen brews unique to this location, mostly pretty tasty. Worth a look if youíre passing by.
Donít let the current picture fool you -- itís not located in the middle of a bustling city of three or four million. I believe this is the fifth or sixth IH Iíve visited and it probably has the largest footprint, also seemed unusually busy. Food and service were, as is usual with the chain, just wonderful, and the tap list likewise large. I visited for expanded Oktoberfest menus, and the Hackbraten and German beers did not disappoint. Would happily work it into regular rotation if I lived closer.
Like all iron hills, food is tasty but pricey. Beers are pretty good with the occasional dud as well as the occasional homerun. Staff is friendly and the layout of this particular iron hill is open with the restaurant seating separated from the bar seating. Not my favorite iron hill but not bad at all.
Another Iron Hill location, but with some great beers of their own. The appetizers were good, and our service mediocre. There was a nice selection of house and chain beers on tap to keep us occupied. A bit pricey for the area.
Typically large brewpub offering up a large bar area and plenty of seating throughout. If youíve seen one Iron Hill location, youíve pretty much seen them all. House beers were definitely good and they offered a sampler tray of just the seasonal beers which is nice if youíve already had the regular lineup before. Pretty standard menu offerings, but the quality is good. Good service even when they were busy. All around solid place.
