This brew pub is a must for anyone who enjoys food or beer and the best part is the menu encorperates the fresh beer they brew
Great Food
Great Beer | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 eelbasher (3) New Jersey | September 26, 2012 I used to live 5min from here and went often. Super nice place and very clean. Very friendly staff and knowledgable bartenders. They offer samplers that you get to pick 6-8 different beers and usually have about 10-14 brews on tap. Counter-pressure growler fills to go and bottles, though the bottles are a bit pricy. I think the food makes this place! Get the wings, damn fine. Seriously, this place is a destination if you are in the South Jersey/Philly area. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 19/20 Wisski (3) Pennsauken, New Jersey | September 16, 2012 Iron Hill makes their own brews, and some of the m are quite good, they all have a fairly nice finish. What they may lack in diversity, they seemingly make up for in homemade quality. Even my wife likes to try their offerings, and she isn’t much of a beer drinker. Restaurant has mighty good eats, from Pizza to platters to sandwiches. Staff is always patient, helpfully informative and friendly. A nice place for groups or even families. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 shaon94 (6) | November 18, 2009| Updated November 19, 2009 Ambiance is good, though it takes a hit for being so crowded all the time if you just want to go up to the bar.
Service is almost always spot on. Though there are times when it is at its busiest and they only have 2 bartenders which is annoying.
Selection of beer is outstanding in my opinion. Yeah there are other establishments around that sell micro brews that you can pay double what you would pay in a store. Or you can come here and get beer straight out of the tanks that you can get no where else but here for cheaper. Get a sampler and try them all find one you like. Personally I have only found one beer that I did not like at all. (the Scottish Ale) The only reason i gave it a 10 out of 15 is the fact that some of the beers, though not bad, are not great either. I have yet to bring someone here that did not find something they liked. Most took home a growler, unless they lived close.
Food is good and priced well. I HIGHLY recommend the Kielbasa and Sauerkraut.
Value - Two meals, an appetizer, and Two beers each, tax and tip Less than 30 dollars for each person = Great value in my book. I have paid more elsewhere for less.
Overall I am a mug club member and signed up on here specifically to rate this place. That about sums it up. if you are in the area your crazy not to try this! | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 ffaoe (3) York, Pennsylvania | February 20, 2012| Updated November 19, 2009 iron hill is a great place to eat. the food is great and the beer is even better. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 EithCubes (216) New Jersey | August 21, 2009| Updated March 16, 2013 I’m just pleased as punch, quite chuffed in fact, to update my initial rating [64] from when they first opened. They’ve ironed those kinks right out! Service was excellent this time instead of fumbling and error-ridden, and the selection has, as with all IH locations, absolutely exploded over the past few years. Love the specialization each individual brewer is allowed; even had the product of a collaboration with Yards from a hand pump! Food is pretty awesome and more varied than usual brewpub fare (a smattering of ’American’, about halfway towards ’foodie’). I shall return! | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 keanex (32) Atco, New Jersey | January 7, 2012| Updated March 16, 2013 Visited there for a South Jersey Homebrewers meeting.
Very nice and clean inside, definitely a more upscale place than most. The bartender was very nice and let me know he noticed me despite being busy. There’s a great selection of beer all brewed on location with growlers and mug clubs available. I didn’t have any food so I can’t rate it. The price of the beer was comparable to most bars for craft beer, but you’re able to try sampler plates of beer as well as smaller pours cheaper. Great value.
I will be visiting here again and trying more of their brews! | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Adam77 (11) Eastampton, New Jersey | October 5, 2009| Updated March 16, 2013 Saw a commerical yesterday that there was an Iron Hill location 15 minutes from me. YAY! Haha. So I stopped by to pick up a growler of something. I got the Pig Iron Porter of whatever it’s called. Kind of upscale looking but whatever. I walked in with sweats and tee shirt. Just got done mowing the lawn. I could feel the eyes on me. Pretty sweet growler machine. Decent work done by the hot bartender. Haha. Can’t wait the the better shit to come in. $15 growler. $12 refills. Not bad. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 pineypower (27) Pine Barrens, New Jersey | March 2, 2011| Updated March 16, 2013 Food, and beer are both awesome. Been there about 5 times or so, and never disappointed. They seriously need to build one in Ocean County. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 dmac (34) Toms River, New Jersey | October 15, 2009| Updated March 3, 2011 Newly opened and I have visited twice already. BIg high ceilings and a very open large front bar area with lots and lots of tables makes this feel a little more like a restaurant then a brewpub. The beer seletion is house brewed only except for super rare occasions like the keg of Flying Fish Exit 4 they are tapping soon which will be the first non house beer they have had if I am remembering correctly. That being said their house beers will not dissapoint and there are always lots of seasonals on which normally includes a Belgian style. The food is a little bit better then your normal pub fare but you will also pay for that. Growler fills available and even some rarer bottles that you can take home. Great website that is constantly updated as well. |
