88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 PWalk (10) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | May 17, 2006 I can honestly say this place has the best food out of any brew pub I’ve ever been to. A must is the Pico De Gallo salsa and their Guacamole. Holy crap is that stuff good. Beers are always good and the service the same.
Their Bourbon Porter is by far my favorite beer to drink. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 watson1977 (114) The dub c, Pennsylvania | September 27, 2012 Only complaint on the ambiance is the noise...somewhat busy night for the dark humor rising release though. Excellent service, damn good food, and very tasty specialty beers...house beers are boring just like the WC location. Prices are slightly high. I like how the bar is more separated here than in WC. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 Walt (189) Austin, Texas | July 31, 2006 Food was good, friendly service, good beers, brewer came out and talked with us and really took care of us. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 phillybeer7779 (10) Pennsylvania | June 2, 2010 Quality brew pub in suburban Philly. The food is varied, and of high quality. Their house beers are good sessionable choices, but their rotating beers take it to another level. They have a great rotation of German style (the Altbier was awesome), Belgian, and IPAs that are all worth a try. A winter visit is a must if the Bourban Porter is on tap! Great proximity to another great beer bar (Quotations) and bottle shop (Pinnochio’s) make this a part of a fun night for a beer geek. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 JB175 (43) Bucks County, Pennsylvania | April 1, 2007 Nice place with standard Iron Hill decor and a good selection of beers (this one and North Wales always seem to have a bit more). Food was good and service very prompt - my only real complaint about some Iron Hill’s (DE locations) is when they leave you with an empty glass for an extended period of time - didn’t happen here. My #2 favorite Iron Hill location behind North Wales. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 JCB (176) Durham, North Carolina | May 23, 2009 My first time to any Iron Hill location and I was very impressed. Pleasant atmosphere, with a nice mix of blond wood and burnished metal. (Don’t like the menu fonts, but whatever.) Service was actually extremely good, with intelligent beer commentary from our server (Bill) and prompt (but not too prompt) food delivery. Beers were delicious, and they had a more than customary assortment of seasonals to complement their regular taps. And then there was the bottle list, for takeout. Hells yeah. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 Hawksfan17 (63) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | December 13, 2006 It looked like it was built in an old barn. It was big and spacious to say the least. They have a great sampler even though I didn’t think all the beers were that great. No matter how many beers are on tap, the sampler is $6 and you get a sample of every beer. I was only expecting 6 since those are the regulars advertised but I got 8! Our waitress said sometimes they have 13 in at once! Great deal! I enjoyed my chicken sandwich too! Nice place. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 DocLock (144) Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania | June 14, 2005 The food and beers are delicious here, but I agree that the service can be spotty. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 italianjohn (151) Penndel, Pennsylvania | April 26, 2010 Have been here several times .... Great menu lots of choices and its all good food ... a decent sized place lots of choices for seating booths, tables or at the bar. High ceilings and can get loud when its crowded ... the beer is always good here and if your at the bar you can see the brewing equipment .... always a good time | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 kkearn (22) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | February 21, 2007 Had dinner here with my girfriend this past Sunday. There was a 25 minute wait for a table, so we ate at the bar. I started off with a Wee Heavy, which was delicious. We really enjoyed the food. Service was great. I wish their bottles were a bit less expensive; I’d love to have a few old ales in my fridge right now! |
