This is the best choice on the coast. As was said here before: "People, this is THE ONLY store with a selection like this from here to, maybe, Istra or Zagreb - and if you look east, who the hell knows until where. It might not be as stocked as your fancy hometown/country stores, but, in the Croatian & even Ex-Yu contexts, you are underrating it".

Tiny bottle shop over the road from Fifes fish restaurant. Directly over the road from the harbour. Ridiculously well stocked fridges for the area. Get your cold ones and go and sit on the water. Magic.

Little shop on the pier. Has a nice selection of Croatian and Belgian beers. It gives a chance to see a good range available. The staff is pretty indifferent though.

A tiny grocery store in Split harbour, with a small selection of Croatian, Dutch and Belgian beer. However, since the selection of beer in Split (and around) is beyond bad, this place is still worth a visit./3/9-13
Re-rated 4/9-14: A better selection this year with some nice and somewhat "hard-to-find-beers" on the shelves. Service is great.

This is very little grocery store, but it has very good selection of Croatian beers and pretty fine foreign beers selection. Staff is very kind and has some beer knowledge. It’s on very good and frequent location.

Walk in to what looks like a normal Balkan corner store but quickly you see a (by local standards) astounding selection of beers in the fridges. All of the major interesting Croatian beers, including those (like Vukovarsko) which are from the other side of the country. Already some boys hanging out outside in the evening, even in winter. The spot to be for low-key beer hunting in Split. I found a German beer that I hadn’t rated before and hadn’t seen elsewhere in Croatia so far.

A small liquor store within the UNESCO preserved core of Split city, as pointed out by Marko you can find many Croatian beers that are otherwise not available in the region. Prices are higher than supermarkets, but not for much as it’s typical for beer shops around Europe. Good to visit before the evening, when it can be really crowded and impossible to choose if you don’t know what to take.
Small update: Selection gets better and better, seems like the owner really got into turning this to a mini beershop, not only Croatian beers. He stays away from more expensive Belgian stuff though. Probably wise for the location.
