Had nothing but a great time visiting this place during Muckfest (and Ohio Beer Week) 2014. The brewmaster, owner and one employee helping at the bar could not have been any friendlier or more accommodating. A lot of free beer with a great verbal introduction to each. A fantastic tour of the brewery and new barrel aging program and facility. I don’t know who arranged it, but a boatload of killer pizza was delivered for all of us to eat. Some bottles available for purchase and carryout. A lot of IPAs on tap and I’m not a hop head, but just a stellar staff and facility.

On my third or fourth trip to Athens, it was my first time visiting the production facility. The place looks like a red barn from the outside. The tasting room is roomy, with an L-shaped bars and some tables. A fridge in the back has cans and bottles to go. There are 8 taps, and usually only 1-2 things you won’t find at the brewpub downtown, from my understanding. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, as is Jackie-O’s whole vibe. The production facility in back is cool, and gives them a lot more room to crank stuff out. There is a big barrel room here, too, but none of the sour barrels; those are back in the basement of the brewpub/public house (this place also helps manage QC). While the brewpub/public house is one of my favorite places in the world to sit down at the bar, relax, and work my way through some beers, I’m going to try to always make a point of stopping in here, too, when I’m in town.

This was not here last time I was in Athens 3 years ago so this was a nice find. Industrial-ish vibe and very small, especially for a production facility. Inside is a bar and several tables made from barrels and such. 10 beers on tap, including one that wasn’t available at the other two tap rooms, as well as bottles and cans to go. Customer service kinda sucked. The bartender never checked in on me even though I was trying to get her attention and they lost out on sales as a result as I probably would have gotten a growler. To be fair, though, she said to someone else she didn’t normally bartend. Prices were the same and in line with the other two locations a coiple bucks per 5 ounce sample. Beer quality was excellent, of course. Bottles available here not available at the other locations, at my visit, 4 limited 375s and the regular beers in cans. Limited amount of parking, but it doesn’t look like it gets too bad. Friendly brewery dog which always improves a score for me. Overall, this is an essential stop in Athens, as is every Jackie O’s location.

Great staff and a mix of Jackie O’s staples and some interesting new beers. I had a fantastic time here. Much smaller and seemingly more laid back than the brewpub. They sell some bottles too. They know how to show you a good time!

I ask this guy down at the Bar if he knows where the taproom is, he lets me follow him to the facility, seels me some great beer, pours some new BA beer and then, and only then does he tell me he is the owner, Super laid back and cool.

Stopped in before heading to RBSG 2014 the next day. Went in just after they opened so it was pretty empty. Small bar area with a decent amount of tables around, as well as some picnic tables outside. Nice selection of 8 drafts, went with a glass of Bourbon BA Dark Apparition and got a growler of New Growth. Cooler towards the back has cans and bottles for carryout purchase. Free parking on the side of the brewery. Great place.

Stopped by with gorditoabd during a trip to Ohio U. Nice enough place, with a limited tap list and some decent looking food (didn’t eat there, though). Service was friendly and helpful, but the place was nothing special for a brewery taproom. Very limited selection and nothing that would draw me in on tap. I think everything on tap was available (with many other options also available) at the brewpub. They did have bottles of a few things for sale that were not at the brewpub though... (or at least I didn’t see them.)

Brewery. They had a few bottles for sale and cans as well as some taps. But if you are in Athens for beer then you are here for Jackie O’s. Go here.

Stopped in here on an early Saturday afternoon around 2:45 pm. Looks like the hours on here aren’t exactly right. Plenty of people here so they had been open for a little while it appeared. This location is definitely more chill than the uptown location, maybe because they don’t have food here? The brewing staff flows in and out and chats with the patrons as time permits, so that was cool. There is a lot of merchandise available here that I hadn’t noticed at the other locations. They sell their small format bottles out of this location as well as their cans. I loaded up on their new release of Bourbon Dark Apparition while I was here and had a draft pour of it. The drafts are pretty similar to what they had on in the other locations, just fewer of them. This place has a very relaxed feel to it. I will definitely be back.

This was a nice respite after a long day at the public house across town, though across town is only 2 or 3 miles. There are only 8 or so taps compared to the two dozen at the public house, but the barrel room is full of goodies, if Brad takes you around.
