By far, the best place I found in Shanghai for good beer. A tiny little place, but it has 20+ taps, all really good beer. Lots of 8 Wired and Epic from New Zealand on when I was there. The guy working there was great and it’s just a really nice place to hang out and have a few beers in a low key atmosphere. Best place in Shanghai!

Great character, small room with beer benches and some fridges full with great ales, mainly from the US. Jackie is very knowledgable about beer and a true beer enthusiast. Beer selection is impressive. If you are a real beer fanatic, a must place to visit in Shanghai! And finally Jacky has his own beers on tap and several other great ales from 8 Wired, Tuatara (both from NZ) and some classics from England - Green King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. Also love the district where the beer nest is located, has a very authentic Chinese character. Very good street food available, which you can bring with you to enjoy it together with Jacky’s fantastic beers. Maybe the best beer place in China!

In here on 3 March, found out that they weren’t officially open as it was the end of New Year. Was invited in and had a couple of bottles along with a sample of a Japanese beer given to me by Jackie. The drafts are a bank of New Zealand beer plus about 6 GK including Belhaven Black. Closest Metro is Laoximen.

cool micro-bar in a very local feeling suburb that feels full with 10 people. If you love beer you will love this tiny temple to beer!! Australian New Zealand and British taps included 8 Ball Hopwire IPA and Istout. They also had what I consider the antichrist of craft beer on tap - Greene King IPA!!! Jackie himself took the time to explain that the shanghai palate needed to adjust to real beer and GK IPA was ideal for people raised on larger and regionally sweet food - not convinced but maybe :) Anyway the fridge was full of global classics from Rogue, Sierra Nevada budvar and a few Belgians as well as the full ranges from 8 Ball, and Tuatara. Even had a Beijing brewed Baby IPA I was in town 6 days and went 4 times. I took my Chinese clients who fell in love with proper beer. Highlight - the 8 ball smoked porter which was matched by a slab of smoke cheese which was on the house. Lowlight - we drank all the draft Hopwire but the GK drafts (abbots ale too!) were still there. One of my favourite bars in the world

Nice little bar, fits around 15 people max. A few tap’s, but half of them was closed. Bottle selection decent, some US, UK, Belgian and a couple local chinese. Prices seem average, paid 95rmb for two bottles. Worth a visit.
