Located in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago, near UIC. Jakís is a large sports bar/restaurant with 40 beers on tap. Your selection of food comes in large portions so be prepared to eat. There is also a couple of party rooms available for usage.
AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20
This place has a giant selection of taps. Not many of them are noteworthy though and they seem to be running too many to keep the beer fresh. Food is standard pub fare, burgers and fries, wings &c. and is pretty darn good if youíre in the mood for such things. The atmosphere seems to depend heavily on the night. Iíve been there where itís been fun and friendly and Iíve been there when it felt like a dour, sad hotel bar. Iíd say this is an OK stop for locals in the neighborhood but there is no reason to go out of the way for it.
AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20
This is a pretty close place to where I work so Iíve ventured there numerous times. Most of the time, the tap lines are dirty and the beer is far from fresh. Which is sad because the selection is pretty good (about 30 taps or so). But that is the downfall. The staff is cool, but the beer is just not up to snuff in terms of taking care of it and the lines.

Found it on Three Floyeds website when I had some time free in Chicago. This place has been around for a while but the atmosphere is more sportsbar & restaurant than serious beer bar (compared to Rattle n Hum in NY). The staff must have drunk beer before but they donít share that information. They do have a good selection on tap and I did find the Alpha King Iíve been looking for. Food is average with huge portions. Ended up eating to much after trying 2 appetisers (be warned, take a friend to help). Itís in walking distance from our Chicago office so Iíll be back.
