The Rock Bottom of Australia, but even more dumbed down. The offer paddles of their beers, but their all rubbish. Had 2 brew pub beers that were so-so, but this is hardcore skip filled with tourists.

Extensive range of James Squire beers on draught. Not a bad option on a tour of the city.

The Brewhouse has a relaxing and friendly atmosphere and is quiet in the afternoon. The Bartenders i spoke with seems quite knowedgable about the beers. Before & after a "Footie" match the place is usually packed. The Brewhouse has 8 craft brews on tap, 3 are exclusive to this brewhouse only. Something for every taste. I first visited back in 2007. Still has the same quality brews. Good pub grub is available, although you have to order at the bar. The restuarant next door has a more extensive menu, but have to wait for the brews. Worth a stop if visiting Melbourne.

Can get pretty busy on weekends. Staff are friendly and happy to give information, though it’s often too busy for more than a few words. Usually have quite a range of the Squire’s beers on tap including some seasonal’s not bottled. Staff are happy to give samples of their beers.

Nine of the James Squire brews available on tap but nowadays their beers just don’t hold up well against the emerging Victoria micro scene. I didn’t order any grub here and looking at the menu it reads your standard pub fare. Once again for a JS Brewhouse it’s in a very nice location but I couldn’t see myself going back there as there’s far better places around the city to eat and drink.

Looks like a new place that ’looks old’. But then maybe it’s been there a long time; idk i was just a tourist. It looks QUITE commercialized tho; capitalizing as a REAL BEER joint for those who drink bud or similars. I visited in the late afternoon; slow, quiet place. I was there for the 2009 Aussie Open. There’s a room in the front with the brewery equipment that’s used to brew on site, supposedly. 5 draught taps are made on site: Golden, Amber, Pilsner, Porter, IPA, with 3 other James Squire brews on tap: (Portland Pale, The Craic?, Highwayman Red). One orders at the bar and they deliver your beer. . . avg-plus prices. I didn’t try the food or even look at the menu. Holds a convenient location in CBD. As mentioned by another, decent place for the non-beer drinking crowd; not bad. There are better places to see while visiting; you’re not missing anything here. Although sometimes it’s refreshing to settle for the simple, if you’ve got complex or high standards, look elsewhere. Love the city tho

...more a business than a brewpub. The bartender said they don’t really even brew the beer there that they serve, and that is bullshit. This is not a brewhouse, it’s just a place to buy overpriced James Squire beers on tap. High food prices, and for what you get, it is a rip off. Not that big of a selection of beer, and even less in food. There are much better places in Melbourne.

Kinda like a thousand other modern pubs around the traps but at least the beer is decent. Seasons run at $4.80 for a pot. Well presented pub food and mains are priced around $17 - $23. A classic ’cross-over’ option if hanging out with a non-beer geek crowd.

Right in the CBD, nice place with all the squire beers, as well as the house brewed efforts. Have not eaten there, the food looks a bit pricy really. Staff seem friendly. Overall you could find worse places to drink good beer in the city. Nice looking brewery in the window too
