60 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 10/20 ogivlado (270) Zagreb, Croatia | May 23, 2012| Updated October 12, 2012 On few locations in the city, two small shops and two stands. Jodl18+ has stupid working hours, from 16.00-19.30. so when I was there it was closed. Just 5 minutes on foot (just follow the tram line) on the main square (Hauptplatz) is one stand, and 100 meters further in small alley (Franziskaner Gasse 4) is Jodl Shop. Normal working hours; Mo-Sat 9.00-19.00. Shop has good selection of beers, many different sodas like Cola, Fanta, Sprite, etc. and lots of gummy bears. Unfortunately insanely stupid high prices (some average Austrian beers not less than 2,5€, foreign beers 4,5€ plus). | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 Marko (188) Split, Croatia | November 27, 2011| Updated October 12, 2012 Went here only because it was listed as the outlet of Schmied meads on Schmied’s site. You can imagine my surprise when we came nearer and first saw that it was a beer & cider (& liquour) store too! Located in the middle of Graz, just a couple minutes walk from the Hauptplatz, which is damn cool too. The selection is big enough for a store that size, strange and seemingly almost "random", which is damn cool, as there are plenty of rare beers you probably can’t find anywhere else nearby (except maybe their other outlets). The meads are all Schmied, around 10 of them! Good selection of ciders too for the areas, probably around 10 of them too... The guy working there was more than helpful, though I don’t expect extremely good beer knowledge (beyond what they have perhaps). Still, extremely satisfied with the service. Of course, you’ll find better stocked stores at other places, but you might find a lot of new ratings here even if you have thousands already, and in the Graz context, this is more than welcome. The prices are a bit high though, almost 3 Euros for 0.5l bottles of beer is definitely high for the area I guess, but then again, I’m used to shopping in huge supermarkets there, so maybe it’s not the best comparison. |
