Well this place looks more like a trucker hangout then an amazing beer store, but it is indeed amazing. Almost certainly the best or most amount of different beers Iíve ever seen. Shelves upon shelves of it. It is a bit tight and hard to spend the hours there I would like to. Tons of local stuff, and also a strong British and Irish section. Reasonable prices. Really great place.

This market store that looks like nothing except a place with an interest for vintage boards from the outside is actually both extraordinary and frustrating. Indeed, it probably stocks the greatest selection I have seen in any of the Pacific West Coast states. Rarities from abroad, plenty of local stuff, a lot of breweries from elsewhere in the US, there must be well above one thousand brands here. I would not be surprised if they stock twice as many labels as Belmont Station on the opposite side of Portland. Nevertheless, itís a frustrating spot for quantity seems to be ruling over quality. Indeed, a lot of the bottles we have bought and consumed within days after purchase were seriously oxidized and must have been hanging around the shelves for several months. In a land whose reputation stems before anything from hoppy beers, that does not work at all. In Portland, I generally want to discover a brewery I donít know about through their IPA and Johnís is doing them a disservice by offering old and stealeing IPAs.. although to the stores defense, rare are the products on which any bottling, fabrication or best by date is clearly mentionned. This brought forward a lot of frustration, but not enough to discount the store entirely. Only, when you go looking for rare Logdson, Lost Abbey, Deschutes, Alesmith, Alpine, Guineu, Baladin, lambics or whatever you fancy, please focus on bottles that can survive many months on the shelves.

Visited here in August í12. For a Floridian, the selection was phenomenal and affordable. You name it and they most likely have it. Everything was available in singles and categorized very nicely by country and style. Very reasonable prices. Walked out of there with 27 new beers and spent less than $75 A beer geekís paradise.

Great service, great selection - just be sure to check the bottling dates on the IPAs. A hidden gem.

Absolutely mind-blowing selection in this place, superior to even Belmont Station - probably because not too many people know of this place and some rare specialty items last much longer here. Just make damn sure (!) the IPAs are fresh as some of the stock can be sitting there a while. Super friendly and helpful staff with an obvious passion for craft beer. Canít recommend this place enough.

I love living right down the road from this place. I stumbled upon it on my 21st birthday and have been a regular customer ever since. People complain about the service but I guess I just havenít had any problems with them. The dudes that work there just do whatever, they donít go out of their way to help you out which is fine with me, itís my adventure I donít need someone hounding me. Iíve asked for some help and the guy showed me right what I wanted.
The selection in this place is absolutely mind blowing. I go in there a few times a week and I am still amazed by everything that they have in this place.

Wow. So Iím in town and make a beer run and this is what I stumble across. Simply amazing for an East Coast guy to step into an absolute storm of West Coast highly coveted beers. I went home with some local stuff, a bottle of Midnight Sun, a nice geuze I canít find locally, Upright Four, etc. Prices are great as well and service was helpful once I asked at the counter.
