Had a great time here. Great atmosphere in the old church. Service was competant without really talking much about beer. Selection was good, though several of their special beers, while still on the menu, were out. They have 100. Ml glasses as well, not listed on the menu.
A spacious brewpub with some impressive equipment and modern interior design, but in an old church. Atmospheric and welcoming and the beer range from Jopen is diverse in terms of the beer styles available, with most of the regulars and seasonals available on tap and/or in bottled form. Even with the addition of the Het Uiltje bar to the Haarlem beer scene, this place is still well worth visiting.
Nice modern interior with lots of red. They have a bunch of their own beers on taop, about 10 when I was there. Didn’t try to food. Service was OK, prices a bit on the higher side for a brewpub. Nice enough place to visit.
Stopped in here for a pairing dinner arranged by beercycling. The brewery is located in an old church (hence the name). Beautifully restored on the inside, but also the place has a very modern feel. We had our own private area upstairs and were treated superbly by the owner and were guided through our tasting by one of the best food pairing individuals in the world (so we were told). The beer was moderately priced and the food was pretty tasty. I had a burger and fries. Nothing too complicated, but still very good.
Perfect place! Located in the building of the former cathedral it offers some 20+ brews, 12 of which come on tap. All taps are wonderful - ranging from perfect renditions of classics to something really experimental.
Stoped by for a beer on a Saturday early evening. Wanted to grab some dinner but the place was unfortunately packed so we had to move on. Really nice building, located inside an old church. They have a nice selection of Jopen beers on tap as well as some special release bottles. Recommended.

We visited Haarlem and the Jopen brewpub on Monday 29th September 2014. The pub is a short walk approx 8-10 mins from the Grot Markt. It is housed rather impressively in an old church and behind gleaming brewing kit you can see beautuful stained glass windows. As we entered the part of the pub leading to the bar has a carpeted ceiling?, really not sure what that is all about. The bar is unmissable, there is a large row of taps and a list situated above and behind the bar, its an impressive selection. We had some food which sadly wasn’t as good as we’d hoped it would be, we had a burger each but sadly you could tell straightaway that these weren’t homemade, the chips were fine but again not a patch on those we’d had at the Troost brewpub a couple of days ago. We had two weaker beers, a Session IPA and a English Light Dinner Ale both fine but not that exciting. If everything matched the excellence of the venue this could be a brilliant place.
