Vwery old Rating but this was my Fav place from a very early Pre-Ratebeer trip to the US. I was into beer but not in a Big way , SO the choice of tap handles was amazing and interesting. Sadly i chose my beers based just on the most interesting handle, and remember all the Beers being too fizzy and the fact that The stout was fizzy was an abomination. but i really liked the place

Outdoor seating is relaxing on a pleasant day - a small fire pit on the lower level is a nice touch. Large picnic style tables on the upper level make for good gathering places (plus lots of room for pizza, plates, and mugs!). Indoor has a nice turn-of-the-century warm feeling with copper and burgundy accents. All pizzas and salads are quite good. Other rotating appetizers are a treat as well, especially the short ribs. Of their house brews I am most fond of the Quasar (Double IPA) and the Kölsch. They usually have 15+ guest beers on tap as well, including sours, barley wines, and local brews. Overall, the perfect place for beers, salad, and pizza with friends!

I really like this place. I love the weekend patio and music they have. They have good beers. They have good food. They have a good vibe. The staff might not be beer-oriented, but you know what, if you’re going in for beer, you’ll be able to find something without their assistance. I recommend this place. It’s fun! Have fun here!!! Put the beer hound away and just let loose :o) This place is great.

Nice little brewpub in downtown Berkeley. Great location right in the middle of the madness. Along with Triple Rock down the street (same owners) they host some awesome events throughout the year including firkin fests and sour sundays. The beers are above average and they have several great guest taps. The ambiance is a little slick for my tastes and the service leaned on the disinterested side, I prefer Triple Rock in that way. In fact I prefer Triple Rock in pretty much every way, but this is still a good place with good beers. Stop in when your in the area.

A nice big copper top bar. A big patio outside. Lots of seating. Friendly and fast service. Didn’t try the food. The beer was good, along with some nice guest taps.

This is an attractive bar/restaurant located a few blocks from its sister/brother bar, Triple Rock. The seating is spread out across a large indoor area and an equally large outdoor patio. There are always several house beers on tap as well as some good guest beers. There is a large menu of good food for a fair price.

Large place with a really nice outdoor space. Vidited during SF beer week Sour Sunday. Not too crowded, good service. Worth going back.

I was here a couple weeks ago. This is a very large, busy place with upstairs and patios and seating in all sorts of haphazard places. The bathrooms are outside as a part of some sort of shopping plaza (much like Sam Horne’s) with the exception that the bathrooms are dirty and totally dumpy. They had a really nice guest beer selection with maybe 9 guest taps, and most of those were interesting. They had Drakes Alpha Hop, and Moonlight Bony Fingers, and a couple other Moonlight beers. They also had about 10 of their own house beers, which I ironically didn’t even try. I didn’t order food. The bartenders were drinking beers regularly all along, so it seemed like a nice laid-back place. I had a good time here.

Stopped by on a week day for lunch. Very pretty looking interior space. Nice copper bar. Upstairs-downstairs. I counted 17 guest taps and 8 house taps. Selection of guest taps was pretty decent. House taps were nice as well. Didn’t see the cask that is mentioned in the description. Service was a bit slow and it wasn’t entirely cheap. The food was good, but got to me cold (over heard the waitress say that she had been working for 9 days straight). House beers were good, but most of them had an odd papery quality that I assume was either hot side aeration or subpar malts (I hear the current crops of Canadian pale are a bit subpar). Overall a decent stop. Also randomly ran into ratebeerian, badlizard. Nice meeting you. One other gripe that I forgot about. They only pour in pint or half pint sizes. NO sampling flight. Also no wifi.
