Worth the walk! We had intended to eat but it’s small and every table was full, and it didn’t seem like a place where you could stand around at the bar, so we ordered drinks (all different, all good) and went outside. Just about to leave when some lads came out so we went in and grabbed the table. Food was good although two first choices were not available. Prices reasonable. Mixed local and visiting clientele. Barman friendly and helpful with good English.
Rustic local some far away from Vilnius downtown. The ambiance is quiet, local people eating Lithuanian tipical food. The selection of beers really good, ten rotating taps with about 60 differents Lithuanian craft beers. No doubt this local is a "must", not only in Vilnius but also in Lithuania.
Awesome exterior and interior. The selection was rather poor however, even though the beers to be found all were very interesting. Service was not that great concidering me and my wife were the only guests at the time this Friday afternoon. Prices more than ok like elsewhere in Vilnius. I prefer the Snekutis at Sv. Stepono.
The place looks like typical Lithuanian bar place somewhere in countryside (but nicer without maybe alcoholics of course and more tidy) but has this warm and interesting feeling, nice wooden furniture. Nice polite staff and nice traditional Lithuanian ales. food is made on place again traditional Lithuanian beer snacks or actual dishes that are well made! Price wise it is not bad, there fore overall it is nice place would return to it with some friends anytime!
If you like applied eccentricity with a strong rustic tweak you with not find better than this. Yes the food is an acquired taste but I am in no doubt it is totally authentic. If you just want a nibble try the pigs’ ears and the black beans. Only two kamiskas on tap but several others in bottle. A fully Lithuanian beer menu but pushes the boat out. Before dissing any of the decor look very closely at how it is all constructed. And there is a real fire.
A wooden country house a little bit further from the city center. Has it’s climate but a little bit too cluttered for me. The selection of the beer wasn’t too big and nothing too surprising for me but it was ok for the Vilnius realities. I do not recommend the food- fried bread that we got was cold and fat - dsigusting and the freezer near the entrance speaks for itself. The prices were good. In general good place for non comercial beer but nothing special in comparison to multitaps in other cities that I did visit.
Visited this cool bar in the Uzupis neighborhood in Vilnius, Lithuania in August 2015. It was set somewhat in a park with a cool wooden interior and exterior featuring a lot of various beer memorabilia. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers, and the selection of interesting beers on tap and in bottles was quite good. We ate dinner there as well and it was very good Lithuanian food. Everything was had for a great price as well.
Focussed and atmospheric beer pub well off the beaten tourist track in the Užupio district. Užupio is supposedly the alternative district of Vilnius but I saw little evidence of this (and nor could I locate the famous Frank Zappa statue). This place, however, is the dog’s bollocks. A bit hip and a bit country, the wooden furniture, various mugs and lanterns hanging from the ceiling and walls, and the classic rock soundtrack all happily play second fiddle to the beer. Six ales on tap with various (25-30) bottles available. Prices are even cheaper than the rest of the city, which is saying something. One not to miss, and it’s walkable from Vilnius centre although it seems a world away.
