Love this place. If you are a Bellís fan, you canít do any better. The service is all from the bar - drinks and food. No big deal - go up and order your flights of beer, smoked brisket sandwich, and head back to one of the cozy tables. Love that they are trying out new beer here that you canít find in the stores. Just a great place and atmosphere.

Lots of selection. bad rating from me because of no servers, ordering food or drinks sucks. 1-2 people worker the counter most of the time. Time consuming to wait in line for ordering. Other than that, its clean, nice layout and relaxing atmosphere.

Great place and very much worth the visit. They do flights and always have great things on tap. Food is really good, and their new place is just great. Picked up a few rare bottles in their shop also. Well worth the visit.

First time visit on trip to Dark Horse - been drinking the beer for ages, and probably been through Kalamazoo 50 times, but never stopped in. Ambiance is good - lots of tables, a bit dark in the evening (should have checked out the exterior a bit more) - went up into the loft area to enjoy brews and some food. Service was okay - maybe Iím lazy, but some semblance of table service would have been a nice touch...the íorder and pick up your owní idea seems okay for a starter brewery, and maybe Iím holding Bellís to an unfair standard, but this took things down a notch in my book. Selection of beers was great, and had plenty of things to sample which I had never had before...most of which were quite enjoyable (esp the Exp-Hop 2013-2). Food was pretty tasty as well. Value was fine for the food, but I thought the beer prices for a sampler were a bit steep. Good experience overall, but a bit overrated IMO (not the beer, but the rest)

Planned in an extra stop on our Lake Michigan round tour to spend a Saturday night here at the beginning of the new academic year. Arriving at 10pm, the live band in the half-filled back room was still playing (always an eerie sight, plastic cups inside a brewery as soon as dionysian music is involved), the kitchen alas closed. Great front bar area with great continually evolving tap selection (even in the course of the night, alas no Two Hearted), and an open and freewheeling self-service feel to it, always a relief when confronted with the increasing brewpub student server culture for a few too many days on end. Friendly doormen and bartenders, airy atmospheric spaces, the industrial side of the complex is put to good use. Individually priced beers on sample flights, pints above average but largely worth it.

The brewpub was amazing. I really liked it. Amazing beer and good food. Nice atmosphere and it wasnít crowded. Decent prices. Thumbs up. The gift shop (general store) was a bit disappointing.

Stopped here after a tour of the brewery (the big one, not the cafe) for some pints and tasters. Very cool place. Plenty of room, cafeteria style ordering so you donít need to wait for servers, The cup of soup I had was pretty good but I didnít try much more than that. I was mostly just interested in trying a few things like the newly release Oarsman, Wild One (not so newly released), and Q Falls Lager. Service was great. The little homebrew shop / gift shop next door was pretty cool too. Nice place all around. Iíve only been once but this could be a fun place to hang out if I was in Kalamazoo.

Stop #2 on our Beer Trip 2013. Visited 06/20/2012 Bellís has a great location. The downtown vibe is really cool. The inside and the beer garden are all really chill and well maintained. The stained glass windows are a nice touch. The lines are pretty long, but the beer is worth it. Friends and I try 3-4 each. And they are all home runs. Didnít try the food, but it looks tasty. We try as many exclusives and rare runs as we can. The store looks like it has everything a home brewer could ever want. Will hopefully be back next year for our Beer Trip 2014. Dark Horse Brewing Co. in Marshall is the next stop.

Stopped in here last weekend while I was in town for the Michigan Mile. Figured it was a ten hour trip, might as well drive another twenty minutes and check out one of my longtime most wanted to visit places.

Atmosphere is a little chaotic but in a sorta good way. People are all over the place drinking, eating and just hanging out. We must have hit the jackpot as we got a parking spot right out front, got served at the bar with no wait, and got a nice table just a few feet away all in the span of five minutes. Lots of cool stuff hanging on the walls from all over the world, its just a really cool place to have a beer. Service was good. It was a little hard to get their attention but once I got it I had no problems. Quality was pretty high all things considered. The beers are top notch and the food was solid.

Selection was pretty large. I tried about 7-8 of them and they were all at least solid. The Larryís Latest DIPA I tried was incredible. We got an order of chips and some buffalo dip, both were excellent. My only knock on the food is that the menu seemed a little small but it was more than enough for a snack or two. Everything was priced pretty well. Beers were a touch high but I was expecting them to be that way since most of them werenít your everyday Bellís beers.

Overall I am glad I made the side trip over here. It is exactly what I expected and more. I look forward to returning in the future and spending a bit more time, hopefully out on the deck.

Great place to drink. Great selection of commercially available Bellsí and rarities, like sour ales, Belgians, etc they are trying out. Last time I was there they had a total of 33 beers on tap. Itís self serve for food and drinks. Food is very good, Bells store is a plus where you can get beer or clothing. For my money this is easily the best beer drinking establishment in the state. World class microbrewer, different beers on tap each time you go, nice facility, good food, good variety of visitors many from out of the area.
