76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20
Stopped in once with my brother and a friend on the way back from AleSmith.
I felt bad because all we wanted to do was sample all the beers but they didnt have a flight option. So they gave us a sample of everything expecting us to buy beer and food afterwards. We didnt so I left a few dollars as a "tip" and headed out.
Service was very friendly, there were about 10 house beers on, and itís in a beautiful area. A bit out of the way actually but still nice.
Not really a must in terms of beer stops in the general area but if you happen to be going that way you might as well stop in and try some Tower 10 or one of the experimental ones.

Comments: Given how many food and beer options you have in the area, I donít know why I would return here. Staff was nice, beer was good, food was good, but nothing was good enough to make me come back. Burgers and fries were tasty, but not at the level to compete with surrounding venues. Same with the beer...certainly not bad but canít compete with the many breweries in the area. The advantage to this place is that it is in a great location for those working in the area, is nicer than Pizza Port in terms of menu and ambiance and lack of screaming children...and it is essentially a restaurant first and brewpub second. So it caters to just about anyone whether or not they are interested in beer. But as a RateBeer place review, it can safely be tucked into the scroll past file.

Visited for dinner after a long day at Legoland. The interior of the restaurant is very new, and tastefully decorated. The had 8-10 of their own beers on draft, a couple of which seemed to be special / one-offs. The food was really fresh, and much more tasty than I was expecting. My family was accommodated well, and everyone had a nice time. This was certainly a pleasant surprise - recommended after a day at Legoland.
76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Located in an office district close to Lego land, inside ok, like to sit at the bar and drink a fresh Red Trolley ale.

My favorite brewpub for breakfast - Iíve been here twice for breakfast, longingly watching the parking lot to Legoland, but never had the time to go there, since the beerhunt has been on. A good selection of beers - 10 on my first visit and 4 new ones the year after. Weíve been lucky to be served two sets of "half" samplers - also of beers, not regularly on the samplers. Nice and good priced breakfast. The interior is pretty standard - lots of low booths and soft plastic covered benches.

I have had dinner here a couple of times. The food is good and like the other KSí Iíve been to, the beer is serviceable. But if youíre in Carlsbad and want a pint, head over to pizza port.

Food and service were excellent. Beers were decent and I got three new ratings. Ahi sandwich was excellent and cooked nice and rare as it should be.

Similar to BJís. BJís atmosphere and service, but you can only get Karl Strauss beers, which arenít that great. Didnít try the food. Typical pricing for this sort of place. Really nothing special here.

A great brewery/restaurant to visit in the area (the one is sorrento valley also great). Beers have good prices, but the food is a little pricy (and very good), so I order the excellent chicken strip appetizer as a meal. Ordering the beer sampler is great too. They only offer their own beers I think. There beers are sometimes good: I like Jeff and Jerrís hootch and their hefeweizen. The location is nice to walk around and next to Legoland and the Carlsbad shopping outlet. I come here about once a month. I love it.
