Very odd place beside the cathedral, in a beatiful place loaded with christian statues. Oddly it kind of works for me. Mediocre beer list but friendly service. Worth stopping by and having a beer.

Iím not sure why this is listed with two or three other much better places right around the corner. The interior is the only reason to come - every nook is full of plastic Jesus and Mary statues. Otherwise the menu looks to be standard Belgian fare (which I passed on) and the beers a reasonable selection. However it is nothing remarkable even for the area around the Cathedral. Only come here if you run out of other bars first.

I came in too early, just opened, 1st guest. Therefor no atmosphere. Interesting location and decoration, feel like I am in church and confession is required. Standard beers, even small list. Its the place that does it, unique.

I have fond memories of this place because of 1) the jam-packed collection of religious statuary, and 2) that the barkeep suggested the first La Trappe Quad that I ever had.

Meget hyggelig og folkelig bar. ōllet er fint men det er stemningen som gÝr dette sted fortjent til et besÝg

Very tourist orientated, and not exactly the largest beer range ever seen - but what glorious surroundings, in the shadow of the lovely cathedral.

Old Antwerp has some bars that are different and quirky and it has this place too. If religious artifacts are your thing, or you think being watched by Jesus, Mary or anyone at all ecumenical while you bury a beer is cool, then this is your sort of place. The whole building is covered in statues and paintings; a pulpit even, anything and everything possible within the Christian faith has been found a slot to rest in or on. My visit (walked past many times when closed) was on a cold December Sunday afternoon (2008) while the Christmas Market was in full swing and the shops opened for one of Belgiums rare Sunday shopping days. Upstairs was as busy as the ground floor, full of families and shoppers vieing with tourists for a seat. We sat near the heavily curtained door but got a cold blast everytime anyone came in or left. Service was a little slow, but it was full and we were sat out of sight from the bar. Fair choice of beers, in another city it would have been excellent, but we are in Antwerp donít forget. Glad we made the effort to go in. Would I use it again? Only if we were showing people around bars and they hadnít been in before. Can I recommend it? Yes, but only for one drink and a look around, unless you are one of those persons from my second paragraph.

Worth checking out just for the decor - Iím a sucker for religious relics. However, overpriced, limited selection, menue isnít veggie-friendly. Since we were only in there for the beer, staff pretty much ignored us.
