Nice selection of six packs, above average prices. But hey, itís Squirrel Hill. I recommend stopping for a sandwich, food is excellent, again prices may be a little higher, but itís worth the stop if youíre in the area. The tap selection is good. I can remember years ago they used to do beer tastings. I donít think the new owners kept that tradition.

Funky spot that recently changed ownership apparently for the third time or somethng like this ... Nice selection of 6 packs and single bottles ... The menu for food is interesting if a bit expensive ... The service is slow to non-existent ... the guy who owns it is this huge imposing type ... lot of attitude and seemed like he was talking down to me when I asked him a question once ... a bit strange ...a bit like a david lynch movie in there .... but itís great to have somewhere in Squirrel Hill to get good beer to go ....

At first glance from the outside, this place seems a bit inconspicuous. It has a multi-colored sign that is composed of illuminated letters that are each a different color, pretty nifty at twilight. Even when you go inside it doesnít seem to be any much out of the ordinary for a typical seat yourself sandwich deli. There is a big cooler on the right when you first walk in that initially just seems to be filled with your every day six packs. But that is where the ordinary ends, this place is a low cost oasis to the beer rater. It is a relief to find beers in Pittsburgh at such a low cost. On closer inspection, I spotted some really good beers that were unseen around these parts. I asked about mixed six packs and the guy at the cash register said I could break any six pack and make my own mixed six. Bottles are $2 each and sixes are about $10 each. The help was very friendly and service was pretty much IMHO top notch. Tho the selection was not outrageously wide, they had beers there I never see at other locations in Beaver or Allegheny county. I was really glad I stopped here, I really enjoyed it. Did not have any food here this time. If you stop in, donít be afraid to split the six packs to make your own mixed six, itís encouraged! This place was much more enjoyable than the stuffed shirt, expensive Dís SIx Packs down the road in Regent Square.

The beer selection is good if you are in need of a six pack to go and you are walking up Murray Avenue in squirrel hill. The food is really good but it was better back when it was called Rhodaís. Matza ball soup and corned beef on rye with a latke, the kreplock soup is very good if they have it in stock. You better not be in a hurry when visiting this spot, they are slow with everything they do, from the cashier to the deli and the wait staff. I have had better service in jailÖ.. The coolers never seem to be cold enough for me.

Decent selection of 6 packs at a good price. Nice selection of Victory, DFH, Weyebacher, Church Brew, Lancaster, Stone and others. They usually have a nice selection on tap, including East End and Great Lakes. Friendly people, and itís close to my house. Food is still good, although I remember it being better, their chicken soup kicks a$$.

The food used to be better back in the early 2000ís----I donít know what happened. Iíve heard others say the same. The beer on tap is excellent though-----$3 drafts period, and the beer is usually top notch! I recommend this place, if just to stop in for an inexpensive, quality draft. They have a decent selection of 6-packs to go as well.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. They always have some decent beers on tap, but sometimes they have a kick ass seasonal or two for the right price. Their food is awesome, but a little expensive. It also happens to be the best 6 pack store in the area I know of if you control for reasonable price. They have some not so hard to find cool stuff like Stone, Victory, Weyebacher, DFH, East End, Church Brew, Great Lakes etc. The people are cool as hell too.
