One of CAMRA’s darlings (twice winner of National Pub of the Year) and for good reason, the Kelham Island Tavern is a great place to have a pint or three. About 10-12 ales, with handpumps lining the small L-shaped bar. Beers from Brass Castle, Acorn and other well-regarded Northern brewers. Kernel and St Louis on keg, expanding the drinker’s choice. There’s more seating in the back room, although the front is where the action is. Having said this, the reproduction of Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights is one of the best things I can remember seeing I a pub... you can sit next to Hell and get a slice of heaven.

Visited in the evening of Friday 18th December 2015. Got the bus out of town which stops on the main road a couple of minutes away. A quick stroll through an industrial area and you arrive at the pub. 2 roomed place that was busy by the bar with the local Christmas crowd with the back room having room to sit down. It appears everyone in the pub had to shout at each other. Despite this the beer range is excellent, well kept and decently priced. Good service. Lovely pub.

Nice traditional pub, there was a pub quiz going on during our visit. The place was very busy. Quite good selection of real ales, good service. Well worth visiting.

The Kelham Island Tavern has the feel of a Georgian inn with rich yellow and rust paint, a kind of neatness about it and a bottle glass window into the dining room at the back. There was quite an eclectic range of cask beer and they also serve basic food - burger, chips and so on. (Visited 16 February 2015).

Visited several times, lates february 2015 with beery friends. Always a nice, oldstyle pub to visit whenever in Sheffield. Cosy atmosphere and clean. Nice selection of beers, served in a good condition and helpful staff. They do food as well, traditionel pubfood. Within walking distance from the station, and a few other nice pubs to visit in the area, makes it for sure worth a visit.

Called here on a Thursday tea time, on my way to the Steel City Beer Festival. Bustling, spotless, well run boozer, with a good range of cask beer, covering a broad range of styles. The North Riding (one of my favourite breweries) Motueka on cask, was in perfect condition. Friendly, familiar, efficient service. Despite not having been here for years, the owner recognised me, and made a point of saying hello. The back room (a later addition to the original building), whilst necessary, feels a bit detached from the main bar area. Go through here, to get to the impressive garden. Gets rammed during peak hours, by all accounts. Deservedly so, mind you. Recommended.
