Called here on a Thursday tea time, on my way to the Steel City Beer Festival. Bustling, spotless, well run boozer, with a good range of cask beer, covering a broad range of styles. The North Riding (one of my favourite breweries) Motueka on cask, was in perfect condition. Friendly, familiar, efficient service. Despite not having been here for years, the owner recognised me, and made a point of saying hello. The back room (a later addition to the original building), whilst necessary, feels a bit detached from the main bar area. Go through here, to get to the impressive garden. Gets rammed during peak hours, by all accounts. Deservedly so, mind you. Recommended.

Visited the 8th November 2014. Not so far of the centre of Sheffield, on a small bizarre street ( in the middle of no building), you will find the place. Really nice place with good ambiance inside, a little bit noisy and very crowd. The selection of beer is really nice and great. The staff can advice you about what you can drink. About the food, my friends and I shared a pork pie really well cooked! The service is really great. The atmosphere is really cool. I recommend this place if you are in Sheffield. A must to visit.

Located outside the centre of town but worth the walk when combining with fat cats nearby. Good selection of casks from around the country but mainly The South area of Yorkshire. Very busy early on a Saturday evening. Old school tickers venue. Good.

Traditional pub within the valley of beer, there is very a locals feel to it, well used and popular, particularly on a Sunday lunchtime seemingly. Good selection of ales available. Allís good, it is what it is.

A nice cosy friendly pub offering cask ales from all over the UK at reasonable prices. Not much foreign/bottle/keg beer though!

Located just a stoneís throw away from the Fat Cat. Large traditional pub with a back room. During my visit an impromptu folk singalong broke out in the back room of the pub. Iím unsure whether this is a good or bad thing. The ambiance is definitely friendly, loads of banter. The crowd skews pretty heavily on the old side. The selection of aleís pretty large. Thereís around 12 beers on cask. Plenty of local stuff, Pictish featured heavily on my visit. The beer was in fantastic condition. Food doesnít seem to be available. Prices were great. Overall, Iíll definitely return.

Great traditional pub in the Kelham Island area of Sheffield. Wide range of local and not so local íReal Alesí plus ciders and continental lagers. Nice friendly atmosphere and attentive, knowledgable staff. Food is traditional pub fayre, pies etc but good none the less. My only critisism is that there could be more in the way of craft beer, both on keg and bottled. All in all a good solid pub, well worth a visit.

Regular Sheffield watering hole for me over the years, more often that not on the way to Wednesday away.
Traditional Victorian boozer with beers from KI and other localish (usually) micro guests.
Has always had a cracking atmosphere when Iíve visited as this has always been on a Friday evening or on a match day.
Nice courtyard to sit outside in (weather dependant!).
Certainly worth popping in and right by the Fat Cat.
