Outdoor seating with cool atmosphere. Food is decent, only 3 house brews which aren’t very good.

Cool place a block off Duval. The actual building was the first headquarters of Pan Am airlines, and they have a lot of decor to match, including a really cool twin propped seaplane / ceiling fan next to the bar. We ordered a sampler of their house brewed beers for only $3. It was a Belgian Wit style, a Blonde Ale, and a Red Ale. The wit was served with an orange slice and was very then. Very Blue Moon. The Blonde Ale was actually a light American Pale Ale. Great hop bitters and flavor with good citrusy aroma. They should just call it an APA and maybe add some caramel malt for color adjustment. The Red Ale was unfortunately flat, but had a good malty backbone and enough hop to compliment. It hadn’t been flat, I suspect it would have been very good. All in all, a good place to stop in for a pint.

This isn’t a craft beer spot and they aren’t trying to be really. They had 3 or 4 of their own brewed beers and they were standard. The place itself is very nicely laid out and our server was very nice. The food was quite good having the sweet chili wings and the shrimp and bacon quesadillas. Come for some food and a drink to get away from the crowds of Duval.

A place to visit while enjoying the Keys! Nice to be outside while drinking a beer even if the choice is not huge. Correct and pleasant. The service is friendly and we also met the brewer for a talk.

The place has so much going for it. A great location (only a block and a half from Duval street) yet that crowd seems a million miles away inside Kelly’s. The atmosphere is cool. A nice bar area with three or four flat screens. The outdoor dining area is a plush hammock of tropical foliage that seems to be well groomed and cared for. The service is even friendly and helpful. However, the food is hit or miss and a bit overpriced... although I wouldn’t state that if the food were "hit or hit." My wife’s snapper was fantastic while my cevice was mediocre at best and wayyyy too acidic... and gooey. My spinach salad turned out to be a rather mundane garden variety salad because they were out of spinach. The other couple we were dining with had the same experience - one great dish; one dish that left a lot to be desired. There was only one beer on tap (Havana Red) and it was barely carbonated. The place is nice and the atomosphere can’t be beat, but I won’t go back unless I call ahead to be certain there are more beers available... and even then I’ll probably only drink a few beers at the bar and then hit one of the many very good Cuban and Columbian places about town for lunch or dinner.

Your options in the Keys are extremely limited when it comes to beer, but Kelly’s is a pretty nice little place to catch a drink, if your in the area. The selection is small, but still enjoyable. The food isn’t too bad either.

Kelly’s is the ONLY true microbrewery in Key West but it’s definitely not the type of establishment I would consider a brewpub. This is a pretty fancy seafood restaurant set in an old house with the actual dining taking place outside in a beautiful patio area with total tree covering.

Kelly’s brews three beers: a golden ale which is most accurately described as a standard American pale ale which was slightly citrusy and mildly bitter but surprisingly refreshing; a generic American wheat in the Blue Moon style that was sweet but watery and mild (garnished with a slice of orange); and a red ale which had an extremely buttery/maple taste with dry bitterness that lingered.

For $3 you can get a sampler of the three beers which was reasonable. I ordered a pint of the golden ale for $4 to pair with my tuna steak dinner and it complemented well. What I didn’t really like was the fact the beers were noticeably warm. You might chalk this up to the tropical climate, but these beers are of styles intended to be drank cold or at least noticeably cool, not cellar-to-room temperature.

They do have a happy hour 4-7 with "$2 microbrews," But what other beers are available at Kelly’s I cannot say because I didn’t venture to the bar since I came to eat dinner. What’s strange about this place is the fact you cannot order food at the bar area. You can order drinks in the dining area but there is no BEER menu, although there is a HUGE wine menu on every table. For a restaurant that brews their own beers they do not cater to the craft beer drinking crowd. Not that anyone in Key West really does, but this is a little disappointing considering the type of establishment.

The food was great, though. My friends and I got a plate of conch fritters which were delicious and I had a bowl of conch chowder which was like really good Manhattan clam chowder. My meal was a blackened tuna steak with mango salsa, yellow rice, asparagus and carrots. It was fantastic, but not sure if it was worth the $23.

Stopped to visit the only microbrewer on Key West. Only had one beer on tap - a German wheat served warm and in a goblet. Very disappointing.

On the corner of Whitehead Street with not so easy street parking in front. Clean wood older building with bar in middle with metal top and tables outside for food and beverages and brewing operations in the back. Three standards on tap. All were solid drinkable brews. Freindly bartender from Michigan with good knowledge. Did not eat, but the menu of starters, salads, sandwiches, and pasta entrees looked very good. Good location mid-day and I will stop again.

Came for Dinner @ 8:30. Somewhat of a wait, 4 people said ’Someone will be right with you’ before we were seated. Nice place, off the busy area of town. All outdoor seating except the bar. Not too loud. Beer selection seems the standards, plus their own microbrews. Very low key. The coconut table bread is very good, with bits of coconut.
