Beers are so wonderfully fresh, much , much better than what gets to pubs later in bottles.. Fantastic Mosaic IPA is my favourite. Great ambience, very nice people behind the bar. my favourite place in UK and in Europe, too.

Easy part of town, but you have to go through a dodgy tunnel and then know where to find the brewery. Industrial storage facility beneath train tracks. It’s not for the looks you need to go here though. Atmosphere is wonderful with all young and a bit hipster kind of people that like to enjoy a tasty glass of beer. Opening times are a bit unhandy (did I say a bit? I have been visiting London >5 times the past two years and have not been able to make a visit yet). Nice selection of some more rare to get Kernel beers as well as their latest few. Maybe the fact that they are not easy to frequently visit, makes it pretty special and makes the atmosphere so good. Everybody is happy to just be there and sample some of Londons finest. Because that is what Kernel is: London’s finest.

If you want to enjoy good and varied beer in an ambient place away from the crowds, the rowdy elements of a night out and the social annoyances of argumentative couples then this is the ideal answer. Actual brewery is situated underneath the railway arches. Evin, your host, pours beer for you. Just ask Evin or the assistant for samples and buy bottles at the end. There are ranges of only the Kernel beers. Evin is very attentive to what you want and also brews something fresh and different from the run of the mill. Different brews are coming thick and fast without compromising on quality. There are wonderful artisan foods in the same lot as the brewery for sale and the overpowering sausages can really compliment the beer. The cheese I hear is especially good so if you want to accompany your beer without paying extortionate prices in the borough then this is the place to go. Please note that it is open from 9-3 on Saturdays. This is the future of London brewing.

I have visited the brewery once with my friend. We walked ten minutes, through a driving rain, from Borough Market to get here and it was worth every step. As there are a limited number of outlets to buy Kernel beers, a visit to the source is a guaranteed way to get some. When we got there, the brewer’s apprentice gave us a tour of the facilities and spent a good 20 minutes talking with us about the beers, the brewery, Vermont, skiing and even some other stuff. The facility is tiny and there isn’t much to see, but anyone who has tried a Kernel beer will understand that in this case size doesn’t matter. During this visit we tried a Centennial Pale Ale that was debuting that day and bought four bottles to take home. In the same building as the brewery there is a cheese-maker and a meat vendor, each selling food of the highest quality. The Kernel is without a doubt one of the best breweries in London - and, indeed, England - so for any serious beer fan a visit is mandatoy.

Only open on the saturday, this place is a piece of heaven in London. Under the underground, on a small market you will find the Kernel Brewery. The place is clean and clear, really pleasant for a Saturday. You can only taste Kernel beers on tap or bottle and you can buy some bottles to taste it at home. There are table and benches in the middle of the stock (between malt and kegs). Really friendly environment, if you want to eat something visit the others stands of the market and go back to the brewery. Taste the Kernel IPA it’s just amazing!

My godness! This was rare and outstanding. I colud stay here fthe whole day. Great location under the railway. Not difficult to find either. Nice cheese market next door. Amazing beer selection! The backery just around the corner is another gem. Buy some bread there. Chees and ham from the vault next door. Then an excellent breakfast at Kernel.
