Really like this place mostly due to the lovely beer and exceptionally helpful staff. An essential stop off for any craft beer enthusiast visiting London

Situated in deepest darkest Bermondsey this is a must for fans of the hop. A selection of bottled delights face you as you walk in, turn right and thereís picnic style tables to sit around and a small bar toward the rear selling 8 taps of Kernel beers. A good mix of folk turn up, food is available locally. Beers served in 2/3 pours. Usually pick up something new and tasty here.

I would not describe the place as cosy, but at least itís big enough, thereís seating and you can enjoy quite a few beers from tap (although 2/3rds of a pint is a bit much for tasting, I think). I guess thereís a big rotation in draught beers. Only very few bottles to buy for take-away though, that was a bit of a disappointment. (I think there were about 6 or so for sale). Did get a nice tour of the brewery by one of the employees even though Evin was not around. One of the many benefits that every employee has to be able to perform all the tasks within the brewery, I guess. Not sure if I would visit again, though, since thereís a lot of Kernel available in most of Londonís specialized beer pubs and bars.

The best brewery in London and IMO the best PA and IPA brewer of the moment. Visiting The Kernel is not about going to a brewpub, itís having an experience. Great location, under the railway arches in SE London. Taps with fresh (one time) The Kernelís available - as well as bottles. The staff/brewers welcoming you enthousiastic. A must visit when youíre in London.

Great brewery tucked in under a railway arch! Great beer, great prices, bad opening times (closes at 2pm) and you also canít stand outside, which is a shame given that it gets packed inside without any seating available (and that the other Bermondsey breweries have seating outside)
