Iím lucky enough to live within walking distance of this pub, one of my favourites in London. manages to be a proper old fashioned east London boozer, while at the same time brewery tap for one of the best craft brewers in the country. Always has a fantastic range of Brodies beers on cask, keg and bottle, plus a few guest taps from the likes of Magic Rock, Dark Star etc...

Large open bar with lots of space. Easy service and really good prices on their beers. Tons of taps and choices. Big projector for sports. A decent place with great cheap beer.

Best beer money can buy in my opinion. Hops, hops & more hops go into Brodies beers, dry hopping too. If you donít like hoppy beers, stay away from this place, itís total paradise for me, I hope heaven is like this. Nice crowd in there, lively on match days, friendly too though. Geoff(Landlord) & Martyn(head barman)run a steady ship

Visited during the Rainbow IPA challenge. Ambiance is nice with lively crowd, wooden interiors and nice pieces of vintage stuff hanging on the walls. Service appear to be very slow and kinda bored, at least the night I visited. Good range of house beers and other British craft, at reasonable prices. A place Iíd gladly visit again, but likely upon other events as it remains extremely painful to reach for me.

First visited on 22 Nov 2012 and then many times since. A typical east end boozer, with a mix of locals, football crowds and real ale drinkers. An impressive and irresistable beer range, with a large and varied selection of the always excellent Brodies beers, plus one or two guests. One place not to be missed when in London, especially for the hopheads amongst us!!

(Visited Nov 2012 and Apr 2013) Great pub in Leyton. Quite a bit from the London city centre, but itís not too hard to get here via tube, Victoria line to Walthamstow, and a bus towards Leyton (get off at Bakerís Arms), or a 20 minute walk. There are also buses going to Hackney, making this an excellent start on a good pub crawl including Pembury Tavern, Cock Tavern and anything else in that area. Quite a large, well kept corner pub with a lounge at the back and the Brodies brewery behind the pub. Quiet a lovely place. Excellent beer selection, with up to 12 real ales, mainly from Brodies, but with some guests. Very good range of keg beers as well, with 12 or so Brodies beers. Friendly service and good pub food available. Laid back and friendly atmosphere, with the place mainly inhabited by locals and beer geeks. Great place and well worth leaving the comfort zone of the city centre for a trip to Leyton.

Visited this pub several, first time with my parents, and it took us some time to find it :-). Being placed a bit from the citycenter itīs not the easiest place to go to, but for sure worth the effort. They normally have a huge range of Brodies beers, both on cask, kegs and as bottles. Food is good, traditionel pub food, staff is friendly, but can at times be a bit slow. The pub is very big, but can still at times be very busy. They do now and then do small beersfestival, think the biggest one is the one at Easter.

Visited for the first time Good Friday 29.03.13 at the time of the Bunny Basher Beer Festival. We walked from our Pickets Lock campsite which is between Edmonton and Ponders Green, so a 5 mile walk got us in the mood for a beer. I must admit to being rather taken aback by the size of this place, looking at it from the outside you think youíve entered the Tardis when stepping inside it seems far, far bigger than it ought to be. I guess there is a look of faded grandeur, and slightly worn feel but I like it, its like your favourite old jumper. Large ornate mirrors, a big impossing bar area and the pub widens out again into a large room at the rear. There was plenty of seating and despite the numbers in here it never felt to crowded until such a time as we were heading off. Service was a little tricky at times one slim, attractive, petite girl behind the bar seemed almost Morrisey like in the miserable stakes and despite my rather loud shirt I seemed totally invisible whenever it came to trying to attract her attention to order a beer, every time she somehow seemed to play this game of blatantly ignoring me. The beers were on the whole v.good. I had the íCaramel Saltí which lived up to its name, along with various versions of the íPale Aleí and a íRomanov Stout aged in Jack Daniels casksí the prices mostly £2.50 a pint were incredible and with the 12% stout at just £2.70 it makes you wonder how they turn a profit, but they do, and the turnover of casks was v.brisk. A great pub that I will definately return to again.

Early Saturday evening of 16 Feb 2013. The place looked old and grubby, as did most of the customers. This large corner pub didnít do it for me at all and I wasnít too keen on the Brodies beers either: Iím obviuosly out of step with a lot of RBíers. Huge TV screen in the front bar showing a football match, village hall feel to the back bar and empty glasses everywhere. The two staff were nice enough and too busy to collect glasses: the crisps were OK. My little party of eight however were not impressed and none of us will be returning in the near future: if ever.

Large East End boozer, looks much like any other with traditional pub decor, Sky TV, music, curious collection of locals etc. But the beer is awesome with a massive choice of excellent Brodies beer on cask and keg plus a couple of guests and some bottles. Handy for the overground if not tube.
