A light and airy backstreet pub with a good range of ales (but somewhat eclipsed by the Cambridge Blue around the corner). A wide ranging selection of 10 beers on hand-pump, with 6 regulars and 4 guests; good service, and great prices. Very busy in the early evening due to the excellent food.

They always have about 8 pumps on at any one time. A selection of classics that are always there, including Crouch Vale Brewers Gold & I believe Entire Stout from hopback. They also have 3 guest beers, so there’s always something to tickle your fancy. Food is great & the beers are well kept. Great wine list as well if you like that sort of thing.

Very calm and freindly place. Helpful and attentive servings. Felt quite at home eventhough I sat with my paper and pen. The lineup was great. Crouch Vale Brewers Gold and varios beers from places like Ossett, Oakham, Arundel, Wooden Hand and Mighty Oak. Easy to find when on bicycle. Were there twice during my stay in Cambridge. Wireless internet, so you can bring your own laptop!!!.

Quiet, friendly feel. Always with 10 real ales on hand pump. No bottled beers, no lagers. And that’s policy. HAving said that - policy has now changed. Now there’s some good foreign stuff in bottles. No piped music, I consider that a plus. Tucked away down a side-street on the south-east of town (head down mill road), you’ll need to be sneaky to hide your car somewhere. Oh - free internet access on 2 terminals for customers. Rate while you drink - hoorah!
