Nice little bar located a little off the beaten path. It sits just outside Center City but is worth the walk. Had a good selection on tap and offered many different bottles. Visited at lunch on a Friday and it was full and everyone was grabbing drinks, which led to a somewhat festive atmosphere. Kegs rotate frequently. Good spot I will put on my normal rotation as the food was good but not great(typical bar food). Very quick on the drinks, when the bartender noticed me getting low he came out and made sure I had a fresh one before I was finished.

Really solid food, better than standard bar fare. Servers and bartenders are always friendly. Beer selection is sometimes hit or miss but there is always something good on draft and some real gems from time to time. Used to live around the block from the place and haven’t been in a while until tonight and nothings changed.

Very crips and clean decorations which really didn’t bother me but left me with a bland feeling about the place originally. The barkeepers I’ve had are always friendly and knowlegable about the beers. Tap list is generally solid with a good selection of locals as well as constant west-coast offerings. Puts on some fun events throughout the year. Can be full of Center City suit wearers due to its location, not that it’s a bad thing. Can sometimes feel a bit like a higher class frat party, but generally has a more neighborhood vibe. Open concept with the rear section a bit elevated for dining. I usually stop in when I make my way to Fairmount.

Stoped here duirng the craft beer express tour. They were having a Firestone take over! Probably not the normal tap list but it was cool with me. Had an app.. homemade chips/salsa... pretty tasty. Good service, the place was loud but mainly due to the crowd. I will be back.

Not a hard place to find and the parking wasn’t bad at all .... Clean and new looking (Founded in 2008) ... main bar area was pretty much the same size as most of the other good beer bars in philly with a decent sized area of high top tables ... then there is a second section of tables ... not a bad sized place lots of tv’s to watch games .... service was prompt and friendly ... the selection was mostly IPA’s and Stouts when I went with a mix of local micro and american micro (Firestone, Founders, Bell’s, Duck Rabbit, Lost Abbey) bottle selection was pretty standard with no rarities .... Food was gastropub (salads, sandwiches and a few simple entrees) and was good I had the chicken cutlet sandwich and my lady the fish and chips but the fries sucked .... most menu items were in the $8-$16 range and the beer was $5-$7 a pint which isn’t too bad at all .... I would definitely come back again when its warmer or they have an event

I’ve only been to Kite & Key once and it was during Philly Beer Week 2011 for the Founders event. This event always stood out in mind, particularly because it was executed very well. Essentially, they had a deck of cards and the first 52 people who showed up would get one card each. Once they tapped the CBS and KBS, everyone with a card got to choose either CBS or KBS (or something else if you pleased) and once all the cards were returned, they would serve the rest. The CBS keg still managed to kick in under 12 minutes, but the place was jam packed, and if they hadnt executed the pouring the way they did, I think the entire event would’ve been a mess. Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. I would like to visit this place again when Im back in Philly. Maybe PBW2012.

this is a really fun place. great location, not terrible parking... food is pretty good and selection is stellar! sometimes i hit this up before a phillies game. i feel this is an almost off-the-beaten-path type of place. not a dive, just flies under the radar. usually have a great list.

Gastro pub with a good selection of local micros along with other hard to find micros. Food and service quick and friendly.
