The Kona pub at the airport closes early, like 9pm, which is a bit rough. Limited selection of Kona brews, and you can tell some corporate catering company runs the place.

Kind of cramped, dirty, family restaurant sort of vibe to the place. Poorly-prepared food, limited beer selection. Beer quality subpar.

For an airport bar this place isnít too bad. They had a fairly standard selection of Kona beers and decent food. Typical airport prices as well. The Koko Brown was the best Kona beer that I tried while I was there, and the best thing they had here as well. Donít expect too much, but it is a nice looking place by airport standards and it is pretty quiet and relaxed by airport standards as well.

i was at the kona brewing company in the honolulu airport. i had the worst experience of my life. first the waitress spilled a full longboard beer all over my lap and then brough out an ice cold pizza. i would not have even fed my dog the pizza it was so disgusting and cold. after such a positive experience at the kona browing on the main land I expected much more. the airport version of this restaurant was a mediocre at best. the manager VIRGIE was completely incompetent and did nothing to make this horrible situation right. VIRGIE completely dropped the ball and was rather insulting to me. Eek! if there were negative scores on the review menu i would have given them all -10 VIRGIE was horrible and a putrid representation for this franchise.

Stopped by on a layover at HNL. The restaurant is huge by airport standards. They only had five of their beers on tap. The food was not particularly good and prices were about what youíd expect. I enjoyed their brown ale, so I guess it wasnít that bad of a stop.

(Visited 12/2010): Visited the Kona airport Pub while waiting for our departing flight from our cruise vacation. It is located in the mainland terminal right past security. The decor is not as nice as the actual brewery of course as it is an airport, but they do retain the primary color scheme and Kona posters seen at the other spot. The bar is located on the right side, with table seating throughout the rest of the space. Several TVs are around and there are plenty of windows. Konaís airport location carries the flagship beers like Longboard Island Lager, Fire Rock Pale Ale, Big Wave Golden Ale, Wailua Wheat and Pipeline Porter on draught. They also carry 2 seasonals and a couple macros on tap. I did not note the bottle selection. Service during our visit was decent all things considered. Our server was not a beer expert but was friendly and fairly attentive. Prices were inflated even by airport and Hawaii standards though. The food here is mostly standard airport restaurant type fare with a Kona twist, such as wings marinated in Kona beer sauce. They also have pizza, sandwiches, ribs etc. Our dishes were both good. Overall I am of an "any port in a storm" mentality when in airports and a person could do a lot worse than a Pipeline Porter while stuck in one.

Nice place with a pretty garden outside the windows. Only 4 Kona beers on tap. First waitress was mean, second too sweet. Yeah, for an airport bar it will do in a pinch, but they could get more craft beer in and lose the bad guysí stuff.

Hit this place on the way back home. Nice clean, air conditioned place in the airport. Average service, selection and food. Prices were high due to the airport premium. Not much else to say, if you find yourself at the Honolulu airport and want some decent food and beer for a not so decent price than this is your place.

Look, it was ok. Standard bar. Nice friendly staff with one hilarious old bar-keep who was very excited by the NBA highlights. They didnít even have the new seasonals though and a glass of Pipeline was nine fricking bucks. If youíre on the island, skip it and pick up a bottle guys.

A sports bar feel to the Kona airport pub. I was a little let down by the beer selection, actually. Only had three or four of their beers on plus more macro lagers. I had the fire rock and the porter. I thought the porter wasnít in very swell condition and the wheat that was advertised wasnít even pouring at the time. The food was good and the standard beers were good. Be ready to pull out the wallet, though... Iíd say this is still a better place to hit up than a normal bar but it could have been much better.
