I have been going to Kuhnhenns for about a year. I think every thing about this place is great. I try to go a least once a weekjust to see what they have new. food wise the sandwiches are from a local deli and they are good, and they have a nice selection of cheeses, plus what ever you want to bring in. meeting other ratebeerians is also a plus becuse you do not know what they will bring to share and the owners and staff are more than willing to sit with you and share some of the beers that are brought in. Anybody coming to Mich. needs to visit this wonderful brewery

My favorite brewpub! Best selection of beer I’ve ever seen at a brewery. Great food you can order (pizza, sandwichs). Really good mead and wine. Being friends with the brewers helps too. The beer comes first here, with a very strong dedication to quality. Interior boasts recently refinished wood and brass, wonderful brewing equipment and to go beers, wines and meads of all sorts.

Fabulous establishment. Looks like an old hardware store. The bar is small and comfortable with the serving tanks in full view. There is also a homebrew shop next door. All the beers I tried to great - especially the Eisbock. BTW - they have about a case of the 2004 left at $10 a bottle (6.2 oz.). Good service, great beer and great ambiance.

I’m a local so maybe I’m partial but...in all my travels outside of Metro Detroit nothing compares to Kuhnhenn. It gets very busy and loud. The staff really knows their stuff. I always take something (or two or three) new home with me. I drink the beer, mead and wine, it’s all top notch. When we are craving a Kuhnhenn stop and don’t have a sitter we go early and don’t stay too long, our son (4) loves the root beer and pizza. We take out of towners here every time we get visitors, nobody has ever been disappointed.

By far my favorite brewery on the east side of the state. Amazing beers every time I go there and always a large selection. The food is mediocre at best but I think they allow you to bring in your food too. Wish I could come here everyday.

FANTASTIC! Kuhnhenn’s is an awesome place... from the excellent beer to the sweet cream cheese filled pretzels to the popcorn machine it is really a great spot. The atmosphere is really cool, when you walk in its not all done up with a bunch of pretentious yuppie types sitting around discussing business like some brewpubs are... its like the corner pub by your house that has a welcome to all feel. The service was excellent and it was a rather busy night, but the minute our glasses were empty someone was right there asking if we wanted another. The staff was knowledgeable about the beers they were serving and was able to recommend styles that suited our tastes. And it was the first brewpub that I have been in, that the owner/brewer took time to come over to meet us after he found out we were from out of state. This is a must go to spot for lovers of good beer and good service. And if you happen to meet Eric ask him if he has anything special that he might be willing to let you try... trust me you WONT be disappointed.

Features a wide selection of taps, lots of different beer styles, plus mead and wines. Growlers were available and a small bottled selection. Sampler trays were aavailable. Wide polished wooden bar, brewing equipment is visible behind. Freindly staff, fairly helpful. Small food selection available, but did not eat there. Non smoking. Fairly busy on the night I was there. Highly recommended.
