Had a great time in Kuhnhenns, sat down for an hour with Frank the Mead brewer, and went back to drink with him all evening, just chatting and seeing all the different meads he brews shows just how much he loves it. The beer is very good too. They serve bar food and it looked as though it was very good with lots of cheese plates as well. Never pass the place up if you’re in Warren!!

Beer is not as great as anticipated. Service was as horrific as previously documented. I can confirm. Bar tenders are all drinking. It is pretty ridiculous. If they coddle fix that they might be ok.

I was thoroughly disappointed in this brewery. After all the hype, I stopped in and purchased two paddles (5 beers a piece), a mead, and a wine. While none were terrible, I wouldn’t consider any of them great. I frequent brew shops and noticed all of there wines were litterally from wine making kits, which would be fine if their prices were a little more reasonable but they were outrageous across the board on mead, wine, and beer. Beers seemed to be brewed with artificial flavoring as well which was simply not impressive. If you’re a townie, this would be an alright spot for you. If you’re from out of town, you’d be better off to go to Jolly Pumpkin, or buy some bottles of Short’s or Founders.

Visited on recent trip to Detroit. Fantastic selection of beer (19 on tap) plus some in bottles. Plus meads and wines. However the service was terrible. Practically had to beg to get some food and I was sitting at the bar. Bartender was friendly enough but waitress was the worst I’d ever had. Food was limited to frozen pizza, but I came for the beer and had read prior reviews so knew what to expect. Had a paddle of beers as well as a pint and some samples. Beer was excellent and I will stop again even with the horrific service.

Fun, out of the way place to go a visit.

A large wooden space with a large three sided bar. Tap list is large and it rotates fairly frequently. A large selection of in house meads and wines as well. Service isn’t great and food is mediocre. Worth the stop for the beer and mead.

i was not expecting much when i walked in. the building is very unremarkable. however, the beers ranged from very good to amazing -- not a dud among the dozen i sampled. very highly recommended.

By far my favorite brewery on the east side of the state. Amazing beers every time I go there and always a large selection. The food is mediocre at best but I think they allow you to bring in your food too. Wish I could come here everyday.

A must visit if you’re in the Detroit area. Hopefully you have a rental car to go and pick up some bottles or a growler. Cool space with amazing beer, but you probably already knew that. Hell yeah, Kuhnhenn!
