Very nice place, amazing list, with aged beers (especially the struise list is impressive) Had a few bottles from 2008-2010 at a reasonable price. Very friendly people

The place looks like some kind of messy, beer memorablia filled living room. It’s been operated by Dirk and Leen for 41 years now. Leen does the serving and is really friendly, Dirk can be friendly, but also a bit grumpy. He gets the beers from the cellar, so when he’s not in the mood you might have to wait some time. The beer selection is awesome, with lots of Belgian rarities and a vast selection of vintages. Mostly reasonably priced, sometimes a bit too expensive. This place really is one of a kind. Only downside are the annoying fruitflies that live there by the millions.

Perhaps the only place I’ll ever give 100 to. Little old quirky place . Not the zoo that Delirium can be and a way better selection of beers. This place is so good it makes me want to stay in Antwerp rather than Brussels the next time I’m in Belgium .

How do you not give the best beer bar in the world a perfect score? Some complain about slow service...and maybe a weird atmosphere (I was certainly taken aback at first). But after drinking an astounding line-up of beer..I came to realise that it was all part of the experience. I can’t wait to come back again some day.

Visited the 11th July 2015. This place is a beer capsule time. No one’s can evaluate the time there, it’s timeless. The place is an accumulation of beers and passion. The place is really nice and you will feel you like at home. The owner are very friendly. The woman is making the order and she is serving the beer with a goddess experience meanwhile the man is organizing the place and going to the cave to pick up some beers. The beer catalogue is really amazing, the selection is impressive and you can have it for a good price. I recommend you this place for a beer trip to the past! Thanks for the place and for the passion.

A lot of the very old beers available on previous visits are now no longer available. Since the internet this place is now a lot more well known about, still a great ambiance and friendly service. A must visit when in Antwerpen.

I recently spent three evenings sitting at the bar, touring the Trappist brews. with occasional diversions like Sint Amatus and Grimbergen Optimo Bruno. We "worked" our way thru Chimay, Orval, Achel, and Westverletren, and then went back in time to some 90’s vintages Rocheforts and LaTrappes. Dirk and Leen are fine hosts. To those who say they do not understand the high ratings of Kulminator, I would say that one has to be in the right frame of mind, not in a hurry, to take time to savor the beers and the ambience. You’ll meet some interesting people there. I go there every time I am in Antwerp, and I will be there again soon!

Went on a Thursday shortly after opening. We were the only ones there. The selection as others have said is amazing. If you are looking for aged or Belgium beers this is the place to go. They are more than accomodating, Leen spoke German with myself and my girlfriend and was more than happy to help with everything. We had a Black Albert and St. Feuillien Brune (2007). However the highlight of the day was the vertical of Chimay Bleue (1995, 2005, 2015). This place is very special.
