A quaint little brewery with emphasis on little. Bar area is really small and there is a small eating area that allows kids. There is an outside patio area and a food truck daily. Selection was pretty good and there was a guest tap. Pre-filled growlers are nice. Enjoyed the visit, just wouldn’t be a regular.

Close to Trader Joe’s and opens earlier than most of the brewpubs in Bellingham, so had a nice early session here. Beer is alright, but list was slim and ended up pinting a guest tap rather than a house beer after the sampler. House beers weren’t bad, just lackluster. But there’s a good vibe about the place, and I would return. The food truck outside is a huge draw--longer line for that than for the beer, worth noting...

Large airy indoor and outdoor area, with a PNW vibe. Service is self serve and lines can be long especially with growler fills. Selection is pretty big and they have gues taps which is nice. They server a pre set sampler of their regular line up. Food is by truck. Prices are pretty decent and beer is mediocre. Not a place I would likely return to, but wouldn’t be to unhappy if I ended up there again.

We’ve had great lagers brewed here in Bellingham, and inconsistent so-so ales. What Kulshan has brought is consistently outstanding style-centric ales, from the very day they opened. If they can keep the quality and consistency as they grow, and not rest on laurels or succumb to the hazards of growth and expansion, we’re good.
9/5/13 Update: The folks at Kulshan have managed to keep the quality of their beers up, while expanding selection. They have made it a fun, welcoming place to hang out, and are always jam-packed. Their concept of providing space for really good-quality rotating-food trucks has been a hit.

Nice little set-up with a tap room, ample inside seating, and a large patio area. Large range of beers that cover the spectrum from decent to excellent. Very good prices. Some of the best beers demonstrate that the brewer(s) have a very high level of skill.

Stopped in for a quick sampling of all the beers on tap at the time. Really stellar quality for all the beers sampled, especially the Porter, IPA and most especially, the Double IPA. Great service and very nice feel to the place. Very reasonably priced as well. Recommended for a stop in Bellingham.
