Never went to the Shimo-Kita location but this one is very nice. Pretty small, and with a nice laid back atmosphere. Selection was pretty good, not massive, but a decent range of stuff. Some nice Belgian bottles too but they were pricy. Will definitely be heading back and next time staying for more than just a quick drink. Possibly on the high side price-wise but a nice place.

Situated just round the corner from Devilís craft. Up several flights of a narrow steep staircase so it is not a good place to go if you have already had a few. Subdued lighting and wooden panels give the place a calm sophisticated ambience unlike most other places in Tokyo. 12 beers on tap, European bottles in fridge. Barmaidís other job was English teacher so communication was not a problem. Standard Tokyo prices. Beer selection not as interesting as other places but I really liked the atmosphere here.

A very classy looking place right accross the street from Devil Craft. The service was great, no smoking, decent taplist and I finally could try the Hidatakayama Stout which lived up to the hype. Prices seemed about average for Tokyo. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere which was perfect for a chat. Nice mood lighting and while it looks fancy the vibe was quite welcoming. A really nice small place.

I am rating the old Shimo-Kitazawa place here, not the new one in Kanda.
There was a 7 card-seven glasses for 3,000 on a weekday, which worked out to be pretty cheap for Tokyo. They choose the beer for you though.
Food was OK-better than Popeyeís. Sitting on stools mostly got precarious after quite a few brews though.

Kura Kura moved from Shimo-Kitazawa to Kanda. Itís only 1 min walk from the South Exit of Kanda station. 12 new taps are installed ("Perfect Beer Server" introduced by Mr.Aoki of POPEYE)

A few micros on tap. Prices tend to be bit high, but they bring in somethings you canít find on tap at other places, such as Tama No Megumi beers, etc. Bottle selection is decent for micros. Since its in the same neighborhood as Ushitora it is worth checking out.
