Very easy to find in an interesting side street full of small art galleries. Simon is very knowledgeable - bring something to trade with him. Huge selection of French beers, and a smattering of Belgian, British and other stuff. Worth going out of your way for.

An excellent beer store ran by as passionate a beer lover as any ratebeer fellow. I’ve not done a comprehensive beer run in Paris, but this place was absolutely unmatched as far as finding rarer French beers go. The French beer of the moment, Lancelot XI.I was here in quantities. Pretty much every individual who walked into the store during the half-hour we spent there was a beer geek. The owner is helpful and resourceful, will gladly bubble-wrap your minions and is an autoproclaimed beer trader that will appreciate greatly if you bring him something local while visiting his store. Unfortunately, I’d not read about the place beforehand or I would have set something up. It would be a good idea to shoot an e-mail before going.

Great shop with the drawcard being the fact that there is many a bottle of French beer here. I was happy to pick up a couple to go on recommendation from the owner (and it turns out they were very tasty), and enjoyed browsing the shelves - some real gems. Will definitely be back, and next time with some beer to share from home.

This shop is definitely world-class. The selection is heavy on French beers, most that I’ve never heard of. The owner - an extremely friendly guy - helped me pick out a selection. (He was bummed out I didn’t bring any beers from England as he loves Harveys and trading beers in general.) I’ve had one of the recommended beers and it was great. The shop itself is lovely, very neat and nicely laid out, on a hip street in central Paris. The prices are not cheap, with the least expensive bottles 33cl at EUR 3.10 each. Given the outstanding selection, high quality, top location and fine service, though, the prices don’t seem that bad. Certainly THE beer spot in Paris.

Crazy beer store run by Simon, who is ultra friendly and hilarious. I pretty much just camped out at his store for two days and he let me try a bunch of beers for free, let me sit in on his craft beer educational round tables he has every evening before closing, and even did a large, in-person trade with me for a bunch of great stuff. Great guy to hang out with. Even gave me and my fiancee excellent food recommendations for Paris. Left with about 15 bottles and a large box from our trade.

This was like Beer Paradise to me! I was looking for French beers and I have been satisfied. I can’t imagine a bigger selection of French beers in France, in other words you will find an extremely high number of rare craft beers, so many that I haven’t seen before. The owner was very friendly and helpful, he seems to know his beers (beware, I speak French). It’s situated in a central yet nice street in Paris (they say it’s a gay district), much better than the nearby Saint-Denis. I have been addressed to the nearby restaurant Le Quincampe, I suggest you to go there as well.

I just stopped into this place for a quick visit to scope it out before venturing back for some more serious shopping later in my trip. It is a well-lit and beautifully laid-out store in a very old section of Paris. The bulding is quite old, but the interior is freshly laid out in rough-hewn wood with hop branches hanging from the ceiling beams. Brightly lit and arranged by brewery, it is easy to browse through the large selection of mostly French micro-brewed beer. The propriator Simon is a very friendly fellow who offers top notch recommendations based on what you tell him you want. He and my wife chatted amiably in French while I nodded only semi-comprehendingly, but when he switched to English he was equally adept at explaining the products. An excellent selection of French beers, many of which neither I, nor RateBeer have apparently heard of before. Excellent prices (2.60 - 33cl, 4.40 - 50 cl, 5.40 75 cl) and excellent service make this place a great stop while you’re in Paris. An added touch of friendly service, we had picked out a number of beers but were apprehensive about carrying them around all day, but Simon offered to hold onto the selections and put them into the fridge until we returned. Really excellent and friendly service and the kind of person who deserves to succeed. It’s really tough to offer constructive criticism, because he has it pretty much nailed down.

The best selection of French beer I have ever encountered. I was living in Paris for about 6 weeks in Dec. ’06, and came here often, once I found it. The owner was kind and helpful and actually HAPPY to speak to me in English about beer! Unbelievable selection of French micros, which, of course, almost no one has heard of. Not exactly cheap, but well worth it.

Convenient location depends on your starting point. The main thing is this is the store for getting French craft beers. Simon was helpful with suggestions on local rarity and selecting towards my taste. If you want to expand your French craft beer horizons, you cannot afford to miss this store. Note: I only bought 6 beers, so I didn’t get any freebies. Maybe if I go back? Why not go back!!!!!!!! Price note: 6 bottles for the price of 4 cans of coke light at any local bistro. That’s value.

Best place in Paris hands down, close to the Pompidou Center, with a large selection of French micros, the rest conisiting of Belgian classics, and a few others (US, UK, Denmark). Simon is an avid beer connoiseur, which will happily trade with fellow beer lovers. A must go when in La Ville Lumière. Merci, Simon!
